I've never had a reception problem. I can even get reception when I'm on the ferry to and from Boston.

Since the installation of the wave guide system I have had great service almost anywhere in Hull. Recently switched to Sprint and have great service, plenty of cell and data service all the time.

i had a T-Mobile for a while, I could only send txt messages while standing on my roof, and only got usable service while driving past the hingham market towards weymouth. there was very scarce service in town. I swithed to Nextel for work (i530) and got very good service in the house and towards the beach was superb. I did notice a few places around town, like below stone ledges, some loss in service, and anywhere within 500 feet of the coast gaurd, got choppy reception (i think that expcted). alot of neighbors say they also loose signal strenth when air traffic is heavy, when I would make calls on the i90 around dinner time(busy time for boston air traffic) I had little los in signal strenth or reception.

Works on DC occasonally and very well on the third floor. Once the waveguide system gets going next year should be 100% anywhere in town! I think they are a little better than most carriers in town anyway. BTW that tower on Newport Ave is WBZ, radio station.

When I stay connected the reception is great. But about once per hour of talk time I am suddenly disconnected. The bars come back from zero to 2 or 3 within a minute and then I'm fine again. Found this site to see if switching companies might help.

moved to hull and I had metro. service was decent. figured T-Mobile was a better service provider considering their track record. I was very wrong. my cell phone bill has doubled and I have to walk into my front yard for service. the south shore is a pretty big market. I don't understand why carriers cannot get this right. I feel like I am living in 1997. this is getting beyond frustrating

Reception is terrible in parts of Hull. From L St.to XYZ St.and the area from the Clarion Hotel to Atlantic Avenue. I have been in contact with Verizon Wireless for the past two years, hoping that the reception would improve, but as I am told by Verizon " Progress is a slow moving Process" I was told by Miranda Evans in the corporate office that it sometimes take 18 to 20 years to improve service. Nice... ... ... ... I looked at the Cingular (ATT) service area and it looks like they have better coverage in the area and are willing to let me try there service for 30 days and if it's not better than Verizon, they will take the telephones back and not hold me to the contract. Worth a try... .. You would think that with the density of Hull and so many Verizon Cellphones, you would think they would concerned with providing better service.
