Total crap. One bar should mean none. I can't talk to anyone, only text, and even THAT's slow sometimes. It sucks.

So far so good. I have no complaints about the service with AT&T. I can talk at surf the web nearly everywhere I go in Boston.

Outside - Between half and full signal. Inside - Between half and zero signal. Always fluctuating even when the devices are relatively stationary and while on a call. At least three dropped calls a month (we have two different mfg.&models on AT&T network) Not just my house but bars, restaurants in JP (various building materials). Occasionally, voicemail and text notices will alert hours after they were sent. We don't use the data network much, mostly voice and text.

I have lived in two locations in JP, no reception at either one while inside the apartment. In my current location the reception is worse, not only do I have spotty to no reception in my apartment but on the blocks around my apartment. Terrible, terrible.

No reception in my house... friends with T-Mobile seem happy. Might switch.

Since moving to JP my Sprint reception has sucked. Can't take a call anywhere in my apartment, have to sit on the back porch - fine for now but not come winter! Looking to switch asap.

Fine outside. Usually alright indoors with some exceptions.

Already have replaced this Samsung phone once thinking defective phone set might be the problem. Not so. I can only conclude that the problem is the poor service, not the equipment. Number of bars is like a yo-yo in the middle of a call. Then the call gets dropped. Estimate that 50% of my calls (both outgoing and incoming) get dropped. I know (in the contract) that Cingular does not "guarantee service", but what am I paying for? If this is not a case for small claims court then what is?

Barely got a signal in the front room of the house and the front yard, no signal in the rooms to the back or the backyard.

reception is generally ok when I'm outside, but who wants to go outside just to talk on the phone. whne I'm inside, I have to stand in certain rooms facing certain directions, but even that doesn't prevent calls from dropping. what's better for the JP area?

I am a 5 week Cingular customer with no complaints. The phone works fine at home, in Brookline (and on the NJ Turnpike). The store where I got it in Chestnut Hill and the people on the phone have been surprisingly helpful, able and friendly. My main consideration was the kind of spotty reception reported by so many, but that is not my experience.

No recpetion at all. Sometimes if I am leaning out a window I might get one bar.
