I went with Cingular a few months ago after discovering that my T-Mobile was not receiving calls (it's a business phone -- a client finally told me -- can't get through -- lost tons of business when I thought the market had gone soft). Since being with Cingular, they have not dropped a single call, and the only time I have no network is when I am underground on the T. As for the Commuter Rail, I have talked with clients all the way from the Central Sq. platform to North Station without a break. Maybe the phone brand makes a difference.

phone works fine but Sprint needs more cell phone coverage. Compared to verizon, they have more coverage. Had Sprint for 6 years, alright service cheaper rate plans a+.

I have had Sprint for 6 years and after numerous phones in the beginning I have found all Sanyo phones to be far superior to all other phones they offer. Samsung is the worst.

Over two years ago, I had Nextel. I always had spotty reception with them, and plenty of dropped calls. I then decided to go with Verizon once my contract was up. Up until a month ago or so, I had excellent reception, call clarity, and almost no dropped calls. But lately, my experience went from excellent to terrible. I am usually anywhere between Salem and Boston everyday, and quite often in other parts of the north shore and greater Boston. At most I can get two to three bars, or just none at all. I am thinking about switching to either T-Mobile or Cingular once my contract is up. Cingular is supposedly upgrading their technology and / or transitioning to a completely new one. T-Mobile may follow. I will have to wait and see how that goes. I am aware that there are mixed reviews for all the wireless phone companies. But at this point, my relationship with Verizon is shakey.

If you live in the historic "Diamond District" DO NOT subscribe with Verizon. You will not get any service. It has been like that for the last 5 years from 1999 to 2006. They will not improve it, instead they will give you excuses from their standard list. Avoid Verizon.
