Welp my company switched from the Nextel Headache to Cingular and we should have done this 3 years ago. This is just an update to my previous posts, if you are on Cape Cod, go with Cingular. This morning I sent one of the tech's to a Harwich client and told him to call me from there as we were never able to use Nextel's while onsite there. He called me from the middle of the store in amazement, so Cingular reception on this rock we call Cape Cod is awesome.

My complaining of Nextel on the Cape to a client and then that client speaking to his contact at Cingular... . Basically they (Cingular) came to my office, showed me the reception "bars" and let me hold the phone for 3 days. As of now in the office it has 3-4 bars while sitting next to my Nextel that says "No Service" I will be taking it around the Mid-Cape area the next few days and update my opinion, so far it looks like my company will be switching from Nextel to Cingular.

Nextel is useless, don't bother with them on Cape Cod. Dead in Osterville, Dead in Marstons Mills, Dead while driving on RT 28 in Cotuit, Mashpee, Marstons Mills, Hyannis, Centerville, Yarmouth. It is sad, I have clients in my office in Osterville that can actually make a call on their cell phone. Yes it is not Nextel they are using. Most of the ones I see working in my Nextel-Dead world are either Cingular or Verizon. It's actually kind of FUNNY, I cannot use my phone at home in the Mills unless I stick my head out the window and point the antenna SW, I cannot make any calls while driving to Dunkin Donuts in Cotuit and then to the office in Osterville, then I can't accept or call out on my cell phone when I arrive at work. The sad thing is, I pay close to 100.00 a month and carry this thing around with me. I think they should credit back the per minute rate when the phone says "NO SERVICE", then I could retire. CCN

Receptin goes between none and poor, and on a really good day I can get 2 bars. There are 2 other people I live with that have Sprint phones and get about the same reception with newer phones.

As soon as I get on a call or move my head while i'm talking I lose reception and the person I'm talking to says hello... hellooooo... while I'm talking to them. I want to throw this phone into the street and watch a dump truck run it over.
