GSM coverage from Riverside station until underground is spotty, especially from between Chestnut Hill station and Waban station. Verizon has better service here (and most of eastern ma, western ma is all GSM). It was quite annoying when I commuted to night class on this line, I had a short window in which to call ahead for a ride at 11:30pm or else I would sit at the station for half an hour freezing to death. Riverside has good reception, as well as brookline areas.

There is a continuious dead zone going over route 9 on Parker Street. No matter what the condition or the situation the call will be lost. Why doesn't Cingular upgrade the Newton Area?? It's terrible!

Was unable to get any signal in the house before until the welcome screen switched to Cingular last month. Now I can have one to two bars in the house. Not sure if I will still get signal in Cingular's GSM plan.

Reception varies dramatically, depending on location on the campus. Indoors at the bottom of the hill, little or no signal. Outdoors at top of hill, two bars or more.
