I am right near Quincy Center and for the last week or so I have had 3 bars but I can't even send a text message. I don't know what is going on but it is really annoying. Phone is dieing in hours as well. Pandora skips and pauses but still showing 3 bars I don't know if something recently happened in the area but they need to fix this before I throw my phone out the window. And half the messages I do send go as iMessage then 1 / 2hr later switch to text message and the big red exclamation point.

AT&T reception at this location is horrendous. On occasion, the phone may ring but the call will drop before even answering it. I contacted AT&T regarding the reception but they seem to think that there is "excellent reception" in this area. They also indicated that they cannot guarantee service within a building. However, even if I choose to go outside there is still poor recption.

Poor to no reception in Houghs Neck. I have to go out on my porch and hold the phone at different angles for a chance of getting a bar or two then hope that once the call is made, it doesn't drop (which happens way too often).

The reception in Quincy is horrible. As soon as you get out into Houghs Neck or Germantown, the reception is sub-par at best usually getting lucky to get one or two bars and praying that once your call does get through, it does not drop. We need a tower or two in Quincy so that service improves.

Just want to update my post of March 10th.In that post I was wondering if anyone had experienced an improvement, in AT&T signal stength, as mine seemed to have, greatly improved and I was rarely dropping calls I just want to report, that my AT&T is back, to dropping calls again.I guess they didn't put up a new antenna.

Rarely can I get service in my house and only periodically if I go outside. If you look at tower maps of Quincy there are very few towers. Quincy is one of the ten largest cities in MA so you'd think a service provider would seek out the potential business opportunity. I'd love to dump my land line but can't because wireless serivce is so bad.

I was getting ready to drop AT&T back in December, due to all the calls my phone had been dropping.Ready to eat the contract..I had the same problem with Verizon,so I am aware, that I am in a reception, dead zone.Thought I might try T-Mobile,because I am close, to their new antenna. For the last month my AT&T reception has been good, and I haven't been dropping calls. I'm wondering if AT&T has put up a tower nearby.Has anyone,in Quincy, experienced a recent improved AT&T signal?

I own an Iphone 4 and I love it, however that said ATT is just horrible when it comes to reception. They seriously need another antenna near the South Shore. I believe the only one they have is up in Boston. I get about 2 bars average in most places in Quincy, MA. By the way I'm not a ATT hater but the reality is that the reception is just not that good in Quincy. Once I head into Boston I normally have 4-5 bars. Plus I get around 4-5 drop calls a day! Too bad I love the Iphone because that's the only thing keeping me with ATT!

Barely any signal in-door on 2nd floor apt. Need to place cell phone near window with bluetooth for any possible conversation, or else other party cannot hear me every now and then. Walking a few feet away from window results in 0 bars. Horrible AT&T!

Signal at times will Disapear entirely. Altho there are two site within 1 / 4 mile of the location Nextel says to convert to the Sprint side [Dual Band phone], most of the time the issue is with the Direct connect, due to the volume of BOOST Mobile abusers.

I was previously on ATT and the reception was about 2-3 bars. It was ok, not that good. But when Cingular bought ATT, the reception was superb, it became full 4 bars. Too bad it didn't last long. After a few months, I only have 1 bar or no bar at all. It's been like this for about 1 / 2 year(I think). Customer service just said, we're constantly working and upgrading BSs.

I am lucky if one call a day goes through. When people try calling me they get a busy signal and I have to wonder around inside and out to find a perfect spot to hear someone for a few minutes! Cingular needs to step up, or a new cell phone tower needs to be put up!

It seems like around Wollaston area, reception is horrible and I thought T-Mobile was bad in my area, Cingular certainly does not live up to its raise the bar campaign. I barely get over 1 bar of reception when I'm in certain parts of Quincy.

Using Virgin Mobile prepaid and can connect fast and easily all the time. Able to talk in the basement of home and stairwell where I work. Have also tried Cingular but connections are slower, have a little more static, and not as reliable overall.

Sprint PCS seems loud and clear in North Quincy around the State Street complex. No dropped calls, no "network busy" problems.
