Cell phone reception ranges from no service to one bar. 50 / 50 on being able to listen to a voicemail. Calls are often dropped. Text messages can be recieved and sent promptly but they can also be hours late. I think Virgin mobile uses the Sprint network, so I would stay away Sprint too if you are in this area.

Phone will ring in the house, no reception to talk inside though. Dead zones on Hastings the closer to Rt 31 you get. Even though the cell tower is less than 1 1 / 2 mi. from my house, we can't get reception here. My husband has Cingular, and has great reception inside and out of our home.

2-3 bars on average, during a long conversation when I don't move at all, the call will randomly drop and have 0 bars, then come back to 2-3 bars in a minute or two. which is quite annoying. I do get better service when i'm closer to the center of town or in worcester or auburn.

Was with Verizon 2 years ago and reception was passable, now back to them but with new phones. Reception is now spotty at best. At the house can make outgoing calls about 60% of the time. Most incoming calls won't ring the phone despite the phone showing it has reception (albeit weak i.e. 1 or 2 bars). Verizon claims it is due to the newer phones being weaker than the old phones. I switched back to Verizon because I thought there coverage was better than T-Mobiles, but now I am having doubts.
