Actually, the reception is pretty good everywhere in Westborough-Northborough-Marlborough area. Suprised there are so many negative comments about Verizon

Personally, I have found that I have low to no reception. If I'm lucky, I get 2-3 bars while standing outside my balcony deck, however even then, it often leads to having my call drop mid-conversation when it drops to 1 bar all of a sudden (even while standing still). Verizon's customer svc hasn't been helpful either. I called to tell them I've been having reception issues and asked if they can log it as a work request / ticket so they can come out here and check the area. The rep told me that there hasn't been any other calls in my area and no "issues" are noted in their system. The rep then told me they would not log my request into their system until they get at least 5 calls about it. (My question is... if they won't log my request in... how do they track when the 5 calls have come in?) Not really happy with the service, but it looks like Verizon is the lesser of all evils.

Cingular is completely worthless in this area north of Route 9 and is barely functional in most other areas of Westborough.

Reception very spotty at home and on Route 9. Better in our yard, some rooms in house get no signal, phone often doesn't ring here and over on Route 9.

Very good reception in the southern part of town.

Very poor reception in the general area of Research Dr / Computer Dr. - core business corridors in the area. In Windsor Ridge - barely any coverage inside townhouses. In Westborough Office Park - again, barely 1 bar inside buildings.

My home and office are within a few blocks on Flanders and Main. Poor to no inside reception and spotty outside performance despite the fact the the Cingular store is 1 / 2 mile away. My coworkers and friends claim that my calls get dropped most often.

There is hardly any reception inside my house. To atleast get one bar I need to walk out of the house.The signal strenghth is good once I walk out of the house.

Low to no reception indoors. For outdoor reception, I get about 2-3 bars. However, its still not great considering I have had calls drop mid-conversation even with 3 bars. Some calls will go directly to voice mail at times. Be aware that every so often, text messages (actually "junk" ads) are sent from AT&T. I don't know about you, but I find it annoying when I hear the message beep and go to check vm and come to realize it wasn't a vm but a text message from AT&T. (My settings are set to "no marketing", but still I get these.) However, when travelling out of state to major cities (e.g. NYC, Hartford), the reception is amazing. I get 4-5 bars. Just doesn't seem to look good in the Westboro area.

Reception very sketchy throughout most of Westborough. There are several cell towers in downtown Westborough, but apparently T-Mobile doesn't feel the need to be on any of them. T-Mobile admits this is a problem area.
