Dead. Had Verizon for 10+ years with no problems. Then we moved to Pinehurst and there is no signal. 0-1 bars in my house / outside. Impossible to use so I'm searching for another carrier. Its kinda weird that they have such a huge dead zone just 2 miles from downtown Towson.

Typically good connectivity, although call quality does appear to degrade during peak periods.

For some reason, the reception is getting poorer over the past few months. Especially inside the buildings.

I have been with Cingular for 14 years. I am in Sparks, work in Baltimore City, Canton and Mt. Vernon. Traveling up and down i83 is now ridiculous. I have been wondering if they are not renewing the cell towers. I have not had a call lasting more than 5 minutes not get dropped in the last four months. Regularly drops by Pepsi sign, Ruxton Road, Timonium Road, and just past Shawan Road, Belfast Road, Sparks Rd.and at home in the house. I now do not make work calls while driving (yes, I have Bluetooth). How do they think I pay my bill? Constantly goes to voice mail while phone is in my hand. Missed calls all the time, just does not go thru. I am VERY FRUSTRAIGHTED with the service. Seems Baltimore is not a big enough city for AT&T to secure reliable coverage. DO NOT USE CINGULAT / AT&T. I am changing –paying the fee to get out of the contract. AT&T can figure out where the dead zones are by running a query on multiple phone calls in short periods of time, returned calls within a few seconds. Triangulate which towers were in service, and CORRECT the problems. If I can figure it out, why can’t they? No more investment $$$? VERIZON, here I come. I am changing my whole account, for all of my companies and my whole family. VERY DISAPOINTED.

Decent service. I switched from AT&T to T-Mobile. Service is about the same at a fraction of the price. With the exception of the subway; I have a signal where ever I go. Although I must mention T-Mobile phones are unreliable(touch screens in particular). Every 2-3 months I am receiving a replacement phone because something is going wrong. If only the phones were as good as the coverage.

Horrible, HORRIBLE reception at home. I live in a brick rowhouse, and I can't talk unless I'm right next to the windows on the ground floor or 10 feet from the windows on the second floor. I drop calls regularly (about once every 20 minutes), and it often takes a while before the phone recovers reception. If I walk a few streets over, the signal sometimes is five bars, but if a call gets dropped, it can occasionally take at least 10 minutes to recover. At that point, there's no use having a cell phone! I've been with T-Mobile for 6 years in other cities (Boston is fine, the Midwest has greatly improved), but I'm sick of missing and dropping calls in Baltimore--I'm switching!

Incredibly strong and reliable reception, even in basements. Never, ever had a dropped call (lived here 4 years). In fact, excellent coverage (including data) throughout Baltimore. Only place I've had problems in Baltimore is in a subway station far below ground (wish Verizon had coverage there like they do for the subway in Washington, D.C.).

4 - 5 bars of 3G service all over campus and surrounding area! The least amount of service I encountered was 2 bars of EDGE service... 2 stories under ground in the University Center!

Glad to hear it's not just me. Ever since the snow storm or about then, my once great reception with Sprint took a nose dive at UMBC. I even spent a couple hours with tech support today to see if I could figure out what happened. They told me to replace my phone, even though I already did... Whatever the problem is, I hope they fix it soon.

I use a ATT Blackberry Bold and I just purchased a TMobile Cliq with there new unlimited everything plan for 79.99. I ready dont have complaints about either carrier. So I think I am going to switch over to T-Mobile and drop AT&T because you cant beat tmobiles prices.

Great service! I always have service unlike my friends with Sprint and AT&T. Verizon really does have a reliable network! I had the iPhone and AT&T was horrible.

I travel extensively to major cities and lesser areas around the country, T-Mobile service is poor to non-existant. They do not have customer service department but do have customer care. Unfortunately they don't care. I am leavinga after 3 years in spite of the time and money involved.
