Baltimore coverage has been good. Also works in the tunnels. A couple of drop out zones on my drive south to Annapolis though.

The area defined by Hamilton Ave, Northern Parkway, Belair Rd and Harford Rd has dreadful signal, though outside of this area signal rapidly improves. My commute home brings me up Harford Rd, and when I pass Lake Montebello, I have 4 bars, but if I'm on the phone, by the time I hit Hamilton Main Street, my call has dropped.

I am located on the second floor of an apartment and T-Mobile reception in this area is very good. I get full bars all the time. I am very pleased with T-Mobile and find that the service is good in all areas. I awitched from Cingular and I am very glad that I did. I would reccomend T-Mobile to anyone who wants reliable cell phone service. I have 4 phones and I switch back an fourth and all my phones get great reception! T-Mobile ROCKS!

Very good reception at home. Usually get full bars! Rarely had any dropped calls at home. The only thing about T-Mobile is that the signal inside big buildings could be horrible. I work at Johns Hopkins Medical school. Getting quite good signals on spots near windows. While don't get any signal inside elevators and deep inside buildings.

I have great reception with this phone and carrier. I used to own the Motorola MPX 220 and it had a difficult time holding reception inside my apartment. I've noticed that other people in this area are having a difficult time with reception. The culprit in this area is the terrain. It's a very hilly environment and that makes it worse for cells to maintain a good connection. My L7 can hold 3 bars of service inside my house, but that's if I don't move around a lot. However, I've never known another phone or service that could hold a reception inside my place like this phone. My roomate has a Motorola Razr with Verizon and he absolutely hates his service inside and outside our place. Needless to say, I'll be sticking with my phone and carrier as long as I live here.

I used to have Verizon and always had at least four bars anywhere on the East Baltimore campus. I made the awful mistake of switching to Cingular at the recommendation of a friend, and have had numerous dropped calls and very poor reception all over Baltimore since then, but it's especially bad when I'm in the hospital. Also get very poor reception at the Hopkins Bayview campus. Am counting down the days till I make the switch back to Verizon.

Beltway - 695 / Exit 22 intersection, Baltimore, MD 21209 |
Mon Jul 17, 2006 |
Cingular always drops my calls near Exit 22 on the Baltimore beltway. Even with cell towers nearby and with a "strong signal" the calls will drop and I can't place a new call until I leave that area. Sometimes, after the call is dropped, I'll be able to redial. Happens all the time. It is surprizing how many dead zones Cingular has on the Baltimore beltway - it's hard to find a more significant road in the area. Take that as a warning to you - avoid Cingular!
