Absolutely no coverage inside the building, but possible to get maybe "1 bar" when standing in front of glass windows (or as other poster suggested, when sticking your head out of a window). Verizon is confirmed to work inside the building.

No reception inside the classrooms, 1 bar from time to time inside the atrium (glass ceiling) - but not even enough to deliver text messages. Above average up to full signal strength the second I step outside the building. If you spend most of your time in VMH, I would not recommend T-Mobile. Other people seem to have better luck with Verizon and Nextel - which isn't much of a surprise since Nextel installed several transmitters inside the business school.

Pretty good reception except when inside brick building or being blocked by one.

I almost ALWAYS have average-perfect reception on campus. The only places where I don't are elevators and basements of buildings. I never get reception at Jimenez though. Van Munching is always good-perfect.

Verizon used to have horrible reception on South Campus, especially in the Commons. I never got any signal in my apartment. Then, just the other day, I opened my phone and I saw 5 bars. (New tower?) Anyways, I've had fantastic reception all across South Campus ever since. Also, Verizon works great all across UMD's campus.

Verizon wireless is the only cell phone service I've experienced to give me reception on the Metro however calls are dropped continuously when I'm in my room and the lack of service on the first floor of many campus buidings including the Commons apartments make for very furstrating situations when you can hear your caller but they can't hear you. It's a terrible trade off, to be able to tell your callers which Metro stop you'll be arriving at but not being able to talk to friends from the comfort of your room. Haven't tried any signal boosters but I feel like they won't make a significant difference.

Reception indoors is unacceptable. I cannot remember the last call I made that wasn't dropped. Outside I have to walk around until I find a signal and then I cannot move for fear that I will lose the signal. Verizon is supposed to have great reception but anywhere around the Univeristy Of Maryland campus other than at the Police Station you are lucky to be able to make a call. Can you hear me now? No...
