Verizon generally serves the area adequately but has many dead spots, one of which is the 1 / 4 mile radius around this intersection (which, of course, is where I live). Very frustrating but it beats smoke signals and 2 tin cans on a taut string.

Whereas I used to get awful reception a couple years ago, I now get usually a couple bars with the newer phone I have. (Although it turns out that it is really no that new... ) Anyway, I get solid incoming and outgoing calls, and almost never drop calls anymore. Better on the east side of my house, but it doesn't really matter since even in the low signal spots, the single bar is enough to keep the call.

Works great in the Balt-Ann-Wash region. No dropped calls, no lost signals, works inside buildings.

No signal inside structures or vehicles, must go outside and stand in one place. Works fine in Annapolis, Baltimore, Wash. DC, and major connecting roads (I-97, Rt.3, US 50 / 301, etc... )

Nextel's walkie talkie and voice reception is absolutely horrible in the Annapolis, Crownsville, Severna Park area. Almost never have full signal for longer than a few minutes. Even major highways such as Route 50, Highway 97 and yes, even I-95 can't maintain a decent, consistent signal. There are dead spots all over the Baltimore, Washington, Annapolis region. It is impossible to conduct business efficiently with Nextel. It is rather embarrassing and frustrating constantly dropping calls or getting the jumbled digital garbage from the walkie talkie. I am currently shopping for a cellular service that has the best coverage in this entire area. So far, AT&T seems to get the highest marks. Please, don't be fooled by the Nextel "Done" ad campaign. The "done" really stands for how you feel about giving your money to the company.
