I'm barely getting one bar in my living room and none is the rest of the house over the past couple of weeks or so. The reception was much better before that - I would have at least 3 bars almost throughout the house. Wonder is anyone else has noted a recent deterioration in service?

Reception was very bad in this area - no bars unless I went upstairs, near a window and then might get one bar. Outdoors was the same - as if I needed to be on the roof to use the phone.

I get 2-3 bars in the house, 3-4 outside. I have found no provider with better service here - T-Mobile was 1 bar indoors, 2 outdoors, and AT&T was zero bars anywhere.

Nevertheless I get spotty reception unless I sit still during my call.. and I will get interference so that the sound will fade out as though the call dropped, and then back in, or I will get static

Travel 0.25 mile in any direction and the signal is fine. this dead spot also includes a thin area on 270 that when ever you drive thru it, your call is dropped. I cant beleive its acceptable to have a dead spot on a major interstate.

It gets 3 or fewer bars. In my cul de sac I drop calls all the time. and if I go inside I can't even use the phone. Looking at the other reviews other companies seem to have an issue as well. I wonder if the nearby NIST has some restriction on cell phone towers.

I live in Flower Hill area and barely get 1 bar in the house, but have to walk around searching for it. One bar doesn't always work. Why is service so poor in a populous area like Gaithersburg?

Two to three bars with variation which has led to drop calls. Poor to no reception in Giant grocery store and in Target (Washingtonian shopping center (Rio)). No improvements after reporting several times. Would recommend another carrier.

I never get reception in the Kentlands. Everywhere else in the 20878 area is spotty. I contacted AT&T about the issue and the offered me the upgrade to a new phone. However, I already qualified for the upgrade... so, now I get to choose which next piece of crap I will use so that I do not have to pay the $175.00 to get out of my contract! AT&T has terrible service in this area. I have used AT&T since 2002 and have never had this problem in the Chicagoland area. There has to be some sort of service issue that they can correct. I hope!

In our apartment complex (Park Station) we either get one bar or none. At least 75% of calls are dropped. It's awful.

Lots of weak / dead spots throughout upper Montgomery County, even on or close to I270. Switched to AT&T wireless 5 yrs ago because they were the only ones with reception, albeit poor, in the Darnestown area. Since the purchase of AT&T Wireless by Cingular, reception has improved a bit, but is not great, and customer service has plummeted! Numerous billing errors, services added that weren't requested, takes several billing cycles to get them resolved, etc. I've only stayed with Cingular because I was too lazy to research better services, and I didn't want to fork out the $$ for new phones -- but I'm giving them the boot now!

I use both Verizon and Cingular (dont' ask). They are about comparable indoors and out (Gaithersburg, Rockville, Bethesda, DC Metro). A few gaps, sometimes due to jamming near government installations, esp NIH. It used to be you could use Verizon on the Metro around Medical Center (Red Line) but not now... security?? Cingular promises Metro access too, since the Metro Authority is opening up WiFi and Wireless on the subway for bids to select vendors. Who knows when? Actually, that's why I keep two phones. I like Cingular's service and phone selection (esp. Blackberries) and Verizon's Metro access. BTW, Blackberries are really lousey as phones (they pick up too much ambient noise) which dedicated cell phones don't.

Sometimes my signal goes in and out but most of the time am able to make phone calls and receive phone calls as long as I am near a window or sliding glass door. Sometimes if someone leaves me a message I dont get notification until 10 minutes to 2-5 hours after the fact.
