I was with Sprint for several years and always got perfect reception in my office located on the second floor of the building. Even in our lab, located in a windowless basement I was able to use my phone. Now, having just switched to AT&T to be on the same plan as my husband, I get ZERO reception in my office and in the lab. That pretty much negates the benefit of the free calls between mine and my husband's phone since I cannot use my phone. If there are other people with AT&T service who would like to petition AT&T for better coverage, maybe we can individually call or do this as a group. Any ideas?
anomalous for AT&T, which usually has good coverage in my experience; however, AT&T is practically USELESS in this particular area, and it has been for a long time. multiple calls to customer care have no effect -- they just don't get it!
I echo the comments from others in Greenbelt. Service used to be pretty good, two bars or so on average. Starting in late summer is went downhill, and is now nearly unusable. Unfortunatley, Verizon doesn't seem to be any better. I called Cingular three times about this, and they keep saying there is no problem in the area.
Yes, that's right. No reception. Actually that's not 100% correct. There is a small corner of my condo bedroom that allows 1 maybe 2 bars of signal strength. I had to have a phone line installed because the reception for Cingular users in the 20770 zip code area is so HORRENDOUS. Please install more towers or maybe even a base station.
AT&T wireless, and later Cingular, served this location fine for the past several years. A few weeks ago (2nd week in August 2005) the coverage in and around my apartment complex degraded to zero signal. A surprisingly pleasant and helpful Cingular representative provided a $15 credit and filled out a coverage feedback form. Nevertheless, this particular dead spot now negates the primary usage of my cellphone. Cingular... lowering the bar. Anyone know if Verizon offers reasonable coverage in Greenbelt?
TDMA reception in Greenbelt is shaky. A year ago, AT&T decided to start using a different type of tower that left my particular phone model in the gutter, so I had to buy a new one, which they did not assist me with financially even though it was their fault. After that, reception was reasonable for a while, but lately it has taken a complete nosedive. My phone has one bar of reception, is always in roam, can't make outgoing calls and the battery drains in a day (due to its inability to find a good signal). It sometimes receives text messages and sometimes is willing to send them.
I changed from Sprint to cigular and I havn't been happy with the service. I can be talking with a clint and zap,no service. Please get more antena or you will be going out of bussiness from lack of customers. I'm going back to Sprint they reception is much better.
I'm lucky if I can get any signal at all. Most of the time I have to go out of my house, into the middle of the parking lot to get any signal at all and that's IF I get any signal at all.
