I live in a one-bedroom apartment on the bottom floor of a two-story building. I find that one side of my apartment gets bad reception and drops calls. The other side is pretty good. Bottom line, I can send and receive calls usually with no problem here, though I seldom have more than one or two bars and I do have dropped calls every once in a while.

I was with Sprint for several years and always got perfect reception in my office located on the second floor of the building. Even in our lab, located in a windowless basement I was able to use my phone. Now, having just switched to AT&T to be on the same plan as my husband, I get ZERO reception in my office and in the lab. That pretty much negates the benefit of the free calls between mine and my husband's phone since I cannot use my phone. If there are other people with AT&T service who would like to petition AT&T for better coverage, maybe we can individually call or do this as a group. Any ideas?

anomalous for AT&T, which usually has good coverage in my experience; however, AT&T is practically USELESS in this particular area, and it has been for a long time. multiple calls to customer care have no effect -- they just don't get it!

After living in the area of Lakeside Drive, Greenbelt, MD, and having Verizon and literally the worst service I've ever had from a cellular service provider, I have given up on them. I cannot even get ONE minute of clear coverage to hold a conversation in my house or outside of it -- maybe when I drive into the shopping center areas of Greenbelt; but who wants to do that every time they make a call? I literally have had to park and sit in a cul-de-sac or somewhere just to finish a call, because I knew as soon as I drove a few more feet right where I'd lose the call, like clockwork. As soon as I head down Lakeside Drive, right before it turns into the steep curve to the left and becomes Prince James Way, it's like it's a vast wasteland of no coverage - a vacuum. I share a home with someone who is not keen on me getting my own landline, so this has been my only way to communicate. Needless to say, I've missed out on a lot of good conversations. I'm sick to my stomach of Verizon in the Greenbelt area. I don't even bother giving out my number anymore, telling people my email is a more reliable way to reach me; and sadly, it's true. And yet, when I've called multiple times to elicit help from Verizon, they say they look up my zipcode, and it's a "full digital service coverage area." Well, obviously someone is not in touch with reality! And it's not me. I'm paying to get out of my noose of a contract with them, so that I might be able to retain some friendships in this area.

I echo the comments from others in Greenbelt. Service used to be pretty good, two bars or so on average. Starting in late summer is went downhill, and is now nearly unusable. Unfortunatley, Verizon doesn't seem to be any better. I called Cingular three times about this, and they keep saying there is no problem in the area.

I'm lucky if I can get any signal at all. Most of the time I have to go out of my house, into the middle of the parking lot to get any signal at all and that's IF I get any signal at all.

I have frequent dropped calls within my apartment - I'm on the 4th floor (top). If I am standing in the cold on my patio I get two bars. However, I get good reception within the metro system.
