There is no Sprint cell phone service in West Virginia, Maryland, Southeast Ohio, Southwest Pennsylvania. There are construction crews here building 200-miles of power transmission lines and everybody has Sprint / Nextel phones, but nobody has service. Sprint / Nextel is the best nationwide service, but Sprint needs to jump in to Maryland, West Virginia, Southeastern Ohio and Southwest Pennsylvania and build a system second to none.
On Route 219, reception is very good. One block off 219 onto Gravelly Run Rd.and there is no service. On 219 all the way South and in the town of Oakland, reception is good with few dropped calls.
Garrett County, MD. Mountainous areas. Dead zone most of the time. Lots of calls dropped or no signal at all. Very erratic signal strength even if the phone is stationary.
Now that Nextel has added towers to Garrett County, reception is great. Two new towers in Oakland and at Deep Creek make Nextel work great. I can leave I-68 and travel south on 219 all the way to Oakland and not loose reception. Nextel's walkie talkie service seems to work even with regular phone calls are bad.
