Verizon is the best to work with and has the best service hands down.

Inside my house both upstairs or downstairs I usually get a bar or two but calls are often dropped. It doesn't matter if I am standing by a window or standing on my front porch. I have to go outside to use phone and it is spotty at best. Traveling to rockville from olney I usually lose calls around viers mill road and twinbrook.

Nextel's coverage is awful. I have never really had amazing coverage no matter where I am. DC is ok at best, germantown gaithersburg, ashton, columbia it works but its always scratchy and never has full bars. this is not the first phone I have had either its all the same.

I had Sprint before switching to T-mobile. I have to say that T-Mobile has reception everywhere I've gone minus some dead spots but those spots corresponded to where even Verizon did not have any signal. T-Mobile has a roaming agreement with Cingular and can be the cheaper of the two. I have a GSM 900 / 1800 / 1900 phone. I would reccomend one get a phone that also supports 850 mHz for better roaming on Cingular's network. This should give a very good range of service at the cheaper prices of T-mobile.

Cingular has been excellent in these areas after the merger with at / t. I am on at / t service and before the merger at / t's towers were the one holding this place up with full bars all the time. Combined, however... i've never had a dead spot in the area.

Sprint is good on the main roads but as soon as you get away from Georgia Ave. the reception dies quickly. I have two bars outside and no bars to no signal inside. I am tempted to switch. T-Mobile and Verizon are the best in this area.
