Cingular is just plain bad bad bad. Our company unwisely switched and made my office switch from Verizon because it was cheaper. I guess so when you are using a network made up of string and tin cans. You can't have a phone conversation without it dropping five or six times. What Cingualr is saying is more bars in more places. Someone should come up with a good class action law suit. Its an absolute lie and they would be hard pressed to disprove it. We still have an old GSM ATT phone that has encryption in it. You have five bars on the phone and one on the quad band GSM. Why? Because Cingular hasn't managed to convert all of their towers. The GSM network is like when cellularr first came out. The system is so streteched out that service sucks everywhere. What a bunch of lies and misadvertisement. What they really need to do is cut bait on the old Cingular customer and old ATT customer phones and frequencies. Until they do that and fill in the towers with the newer equipment it will continue to be bad bad bad bad bad. Anyone with a right mind would run the other direction. Verizon, like they advertise; its all about the network you are on.

Whenever I go into a store or someones basement my cellphone loses service, Also it does this very annoying thing where my phone will be on and have service yet it directs the call to my voicemail and does not ring. At&t has sent me a "upgrade" phone the t226 which has showed some signs of improvement as far as coverage, but also the phone tends to switch to Cingulars network in my home area even when I have service. This causes me to roam in my home area. Overal the service is ok. The only reason I'd stick with it is b/c they are merging with Cingular and will have an awesome network.
