It is well known that the entire Riva road corridor is a dead zone. In my neighborhood,you would often see people standing outside on their front steps holding a cell phone I could never even own a cell phone because it would merely be an expensive boat anchor at my house(I make a lot of interstate long distance calls )but one day,a guest used her cell phone even though I said it will drop the call if even successful making the connection. To my amazement she got 2 or 3 bars solidly while walking and talking around my entire.5 acre property. I bought a cell phone the next day. Turns out that sometime in the previous 2 years(unbeknownst to me) Verizon had put a new(or leased) cell tower. I recently Dropped my landline service and bought a Verizon Droid smartphone - that shows how confident I am with making calls So,at least for me,the only carrier that works reliably for me.

Very poor reception at home; improves if I go down to the south river.
