Felt compelled to update my T-Mobile review. Although I'm looking to switch providers, I must say that the reception has noticably improved in the past 6 months. It was terrible in most of Anne Arundel County, esp. Severn, couldn't complete a good percentage of calls. Now I occasionally drop calls, but usually can make it through. Customer service was excellent - each time I called, the rep treated me like she was eager to help and offered real solutions (discount on a future bill, downgrading plan to less minutes, etc.) I almost am considering staying because of the great customer service, but bottom line need a carrier for whom I can conduct business on a cell with almost land-line quality. (One can hope, eh?)

I've been with T-Mobile for three years (since the Voicestream days). They have had excellent customer service. I've purchased a beat up non-functioning sidekick from eBay (ripped off) and they replaced it, and the next two sidekicks which have had problems as well for a minor one time warranty fee (since it was expired on the sidekick). They've been good with keeping me up to date with features, often giving me additional free features. I pay 42.98 a month for 650 anytime minutes, free nights, weekends, roaming, long distance, T-Zones wireless service & 350 text messages. Not bad, right? Incorrect. Reception is horrible. On the Nokia 3595 phone I would get decent reception half the time (mid level with bars). If I was indoors and not near a window, my chances of getting reception were equivilant to my chances of winning the Mega Millions jackpot. Sadly, with the Danger sidekick reception is about 85% of what I get on the Nokia 3595. In grocery stores, gyms, medical centers, classrooms, basements, and apartments I would have minimal to NO reception (none most of the time), while those with Cingular in the same areas would have near full. I want to change to Cingular, but I'm surprised to see that some near my area say they aren't good. Bottom line. T-Mobile customer service gets a 6 out of 5 stars. They will take care of you. Reception however, gets a 2 out of 5. It's hard to have a phone conversation without saying 'huh?', 'repeat that', or 'call my house phone'.

I just switched to a GSM National Family Plan and have retained at least the average local quality of service I had under the Cingular Digital plan judging from my call completion success. My signal strenght from inside my home is only 1-2 bars using two different SE T616. This low signal strenght may have caused my only long distance connection to a land line in PA. to be poor. The land line caller at the other end called my land line to not be frustrated. From the lack of Cingular reviews I assume my decision to retain my service with them was not at least a bad one. Not shore what else to do judging by the other vendors coverage support for the new and up coming GSM network.

Very Poor! Although this phone gets strong reception in most parts of Annapolis, in Severn and many other surrounding areas there is virtually nothing. (A few spots pick up a weak signal). By comparison, Nextel had a strong signal in these spots. I get zero bars inside my home, 1-3 outside, but even the weak signal usually drops out. The first week I purchased, TMobile suggested buying a booster. The poor reception above is With a booster.
