Cingular has no coverage in some of the buildings in Towson. I work with people who have Verizon and they have no problems. I have been through 2 LG Phone and now a Soney Ericsson and it is just as bad. Cingular is rasing the right. I was going to go with Verizon and I was stuiped and signed with Cingular for another two years. They suck
I used to have Cingular, but reception was non-existent in the dorms (brick buildings... ). Switched to Verizon, and haven't looked back... VERY PLEASED with my signal in pretty much the entire Towson area.
I get very poor reception at home, with many dropped calls. At work at Johns Hopkins Medical Center, the signal is so-so. However, I have difficulty placing calls everywhere. I will often have to attempt 4-5 times to get a call to go through. I'll just get a loud beeping in my ear, and a message on the phone saying "no connection." Will switch as soon as contract is up in October.
Low to no signal bars in my house. Many dropped calls. Same, going up Ruxton Rd.toward Graul's Market. Same, going up Bellona Ave. toward Charles St.and then heading South on Charles to Lake Avenue.
I recently switched to Cingular from Verizon. What a mistake as far as cellphone portion of the Blackberry. Not much difference noted on the data. I rarely get more then 2-3 bars everywhere I go. So much for this more bars stuff. The Verizon CDMA service outperforms. I can't tell you how many times I have been dropped. Cingular is still doing hard handovers I assume. The porting has also created problems for those trying to call, often people get a recording that the Verizon customer's phone is no longer in service. The intersection indicated above has dropped me at least 3-4 times in the past two weeks.
