Signal strength is several levels below that of what Unicel provided in the same location.

0-1 (sometimes it says no service)... .had great reception feeding off a tower months ago and then something changed???

I was promissed towers in alfred 04002 when buying the phones years ago, and still lucky if there is one bar.

We had excellent reception here in Alfred up until Christmas time, just about the same time the swap from AT&T to Cingular took place. We're still trying to find out if it's a tower problem or changes due to the merge.
