we have a condo across the street from a ski mountain (shawnee peak). with one foot in the air balancing out of one window facing the south we might get a sporatic bar or two and then loose it. little to no service. then I spoke to a radio shack rep who suggest I switch from channel a to channel b (us cellular signal). this used to work perfectly 5 bars in my condo. no additional charges from Verizon because of my plan. after a few over the air updates through verizon, I have seemed to have lost this ability. ( I think they shut that tower off because now it never works!) you would think that these companies would realize that alot of their customers have second homes in these tourist areas and they would want to keep thhappy!

South Bridgton / Foster Pond intersection, Bridgton, ME 04009 |

In the winter of 2004 we were able to get a TMobile signal in our house on Hummingbird Lane at Foster Pond, reliably enough to use TZones and to call people if we went outside. By the summer of 2005 the signal essentially disappeared: Now in the fall / winter of 2005 I can get a weak signal sometimes if I walk up to the King Hill Road. But around the house and along the lake, nothing. We tried this on Thanksgiving, and could not make or receive anything. Driving into Bridgton the signal appears, and by the time you get to town there is a strong 4 bar signal. But Maine is the worst I have seen. I used the same phone and TMobile service in rural Ica, Peru, and got a great signal and excellent reception. If TMobile can do it for the llamas, why can't they do it for the moose?

Great new reception on Long Lake, which I experienced as new during Summer of 2004. Reception drops once you leave Route 302.

there is now tower near bridgton, and this is a tourist town in winter and summer. There should be a tower placed, because the reception here is awful. you might have 2 bars make a phone call and then lose your signal and sometimes there is so signal at all.
