U.S Cellular service is really good in all parts of Caribou, except the more north you go, it goes slowly, especially from Sweden St.north on 161. Throughout Main Street, Bennett Dr.and the bypass, there is consistently 5 bars, 4 bars in places you cannot see the tall tower (my house, mid-Sweden Street) and going down South Main St.to the Motor Inn, then you go to about 3 or so bars for a little while until you hit the Presque Isle towers on the Parkhurst Road, there is 5 bars from then on to about downtown Presque Isle, where there is only 3 or 4. If you were to go north to Fort Kent or the Lakes, expect service to go out in New Sweden, and expect it to roam the whole way or get 1 bar from somewhere? In Fort Kent, there is good reception (5 bars) mostly. If you were to go to places like St. David or the Allagash, don't even bother because even the best phone cannot get service (unless you roam of Canadian towers but I doubt it even there)

Good service in town and out. However, not as strong as Verizon and not 3G (yet).

Very good T-Mobile service, I'm glad I switched carriers in some ways from U.S Cellular, then again I don't. In town where I live, it's 4-5 bars all the time, great coverage. When I go in town, it's about a bar, and up north, I have no service whatsoever. T-Mobile can roam with Unicel for free, but sometimes that doesn't even work, it's usefull on the interestate becuase there is NO T-Mobile coverage south of Presque Isle until Houlton then until Bangor. Thank god for Unicel

Still waiting for roaming agreements to be established and completed between T-Mobile and Unicel. It did work fine for a while, then completely stopped which was quite aggravating. I've got about 100 BlackBerry devices sold up here to various businesses if TMO and Unicel could get their collective heads out of their posteriors and get things settled between them. The numbers don't really seem to matter to them. Hey Unicel, why won't you support BlackBerry devices so we don't need to deal with this foolishness? W So what is the hold-up folks? We NEED 30 of these devices for our business since our local paging service (Aroostook Paging) absolutely stinks - delivering about 50 % of all pages successfully. Maybe it was a bad idea to start a high tech company in Norhern Maine... other areas can actually delivery on mission-critical services.

To explain the dissappearing coverage in Maine. VZW is turning off analog towers EVERYWHERE, as they are much more expensive to keep running. They look at a sheet of numbers and say "Hrmm. 5% of our customers rely on analog. Not worth it. Shut em down."
