Verizon 4 Out of 5 Phone Model: Smartphone	Reception for voice calls was good throughout most of Machias and in Roque Bluffs. But no data services so e-mail never reached my smart phone until I headed south to Ellsworth. My concern - I plan to build a home there and worry that I won't be able to access my home security and control systems. Oh well.

AT&T 1 Out of 5 Phone Model: BlackBerry 9000	0-1 bars at this intersection. AT&T cell reception was not very good in many parts of town. Verizon (U.S. Cellular) only did marginally better.

Cellular One 3 Out of 5 Phone Model: Razr	No matter where you go Downeast, there will be dead zones for cell coverage. It's unfortunate that no one can cover the area. I travel from Milbridge to Machias for work everyday, and there are so many dead zones, ie. JOnesboro, COlumbia Falls,Whitneyville Rd. I usually wait until I'm on Rt. 1A in Harrington to make any calls. It's pretty sad up here.
