I drive from Rt 27 Augusta to Rome as well as New Sharon - I lose reception as soon as I am outside of Augusta near the Sidney line. I lose calls off and on throughout the commute and the phone is useless in the Rome / Belgrade area. Very frustrating, have taken the phone to US Cellular three times, been given three different excuses as to why there is no reception - none of which were related to tower issues. Was going to upgrade to a blackberry or smartphone - don't want to waste anymore money - Verizon is no better, have a wireless card for internet, barely holds a signal, will not renew contract - have better luck chancing WiFi. Maine is so far behind in the times - very sad.

If I cut down a couple of my neighbors tree's, I can see the dang cell phone towers! There less than 2000' from my back door and yet all I get is dropped calls, poor connections and sucked up battery life because the phone is always looking for the tower. There is a word that comes to mind about cell phone companies... fraud. When did fraud become legal in the United States. Seems though what these companies need is a class action law suit or two against them. Maybe then they will dig their heads out of the sand, stop counting there green backs and start to provide the services for which they are "supposed" to be rendering.

No reception in house. Only get reception whiloe out on porch, or somewhere outside. This is aggravating. When lur landline was out of service I called Verizon about it aon my cell phone and was dropped three times. This willnot do in an emergency. We had Cingular / Att prior but were dropped due to their not being covered in area and "too many raoming calls. Cingular / Att worked for us anywhere IN THAE HOUSAE. AWe do not like having to go oudoors in the rain to talk to anyone on our phone. WHat gives! AWe can send a man to the moon and missiles all ovwer the place but we cannot get proper phone coverage. Verizon needs to wake up and get the towers operating before taking any more of our money each month for inadequate service / reception. At best we might get two bars outdoors!

T-mobile has come a long way in the last year or so, dramaticly improving coverage in the central maine area. My reception is great, not to mention the added benifet of being able to use FOR FREE a unicel or Cingular or AT&T (or whatever they want to call themselves today). My phone automaticly selects the tower that has the best dtregnth and I seldomly dropp my calls.
