Phillips is a notorious dead zone even with U.S. Cellular -- no reception at all inside the house. I had to go back to a land-line. There is one spot in the middle of my front yard (the dog's favorite spot to crap, of course... ) where there is enough reception to retrieve messages in an emergency, but its way too cold up here in the winter to be chatting it up with friends in the front yard. Driving down Route 4 to Farmington, service kicks in just north of Strong and is fine the rest of the way into Farmington and in Wilton. I have a family plan and the other person on the plan who lives in Wilton gets great reception and does not need a land-line. Driving from Farmington to Skowhegan on Route 2, there is a dead zone in the Mercer dip that never fails to drop the call, but the rest of the road is fine.

Dead Zone- Our Carrier promised us that the Motorola RazR would increase our reception. I guess we had SUCKER written all over our foreheads. This phone has a port to use an attenna. Then we were told that if we used it, we would void the warrantyon the phone. Ummm Excuse me. Why is a port there if it isn't meant to be used?
