Had strong reception up Rt 295 and Rt 1 until Wiscasset. From that point on, there was no service. Very disappointed in this as we are seriously thinking of moving to Rockland and LOVE our Nextel Direct Connect service. Have been with Nextel for years; their customer service is great and the plans are very uncomplicated. No roaming charges; no long distance charges. They need to expand into this untapped market!

We switched from At&T wireless to T-Mobile because the customer service was so poor, now we have no reception... We travel from Portland to Steuben and as far North as Millinocket and the reception is HORRIBLE! I want to switch but can't because they penalize us $200.00 a phone, so we have to stay with a carrier and pay for service that we do not get! FRUSTRATED with T-Mobile! CUSTMER SERVICE IS ALSO HORRIBLE~ Phones are nice when they work...

Commute a lot to Boston, and find two dead spots between here and there. Don't go much to the northern or western parts of the state, but along the coast US Cellular works well.

I have been very impressed with Us Cellular as I roam from Portland to Rockland all the time and have found the coverage is better than the other carriers. There are siome dead spots but from most towns on the 1 I can get a bar or so.

Nothing works good in Maine everywhere. I find Nokia phones work better than Motorola phones, Hands down! I have Unicel. My sis has us cellular. It depends where you are to what works best. Sometimes I have better service, other times she does. It's back and forth. If your along the interstate they seem to work ok. Get into the back roads and it's a different story. The antenna boosters you put under the battery are usless. An external antenna on the car will help. Luck to you on who you use. Your in the most backward state in the country---MAINE!
