Excellent Reception on my Motorola RAZR with U.S. Cellular. There is a drop at Ikes Point and Spotty through Somesville, the Eagle Lake Rd.and areas of Northeast Harbor but other than that no dropps at all. I work from home and talk to customers without worries about dropped calls at all!

Verizon acknowledges that it had only analog service on Mt. Desert. High places and mountains are good, but you lose connection in valleys. And the cell phone battery needs recharging more often in analog areas. Two years ago there were two choices: ATT and Verizon. Is there any longer an ATT?

Reception is good in town and near the water. There are 3 towers on the island that are tdma with GSM being added. I dont think there are any other carriers on Mt. Desert yet.
