I have never had any trouble with my signal in the two years I have had my phone. if you go down West M-46 toward Riverdale or Vestaburg the signal drops in and out. In Wal-Mart there is no signal at all.

I get 5 bars but each time I make a call it is DROPPED. Ironically I am able to use text messaging and MediaNet (internet). I know it isn't my phone because the same thing happens on my wife's phone as well as my son's phone who are both part of my family plan. If I travel approximately 1 mile in any direction I am to use phone normally.

Decent connection... doesn't work well in campus buildings though. Usually a 4 or 5 bar outside.

I have had both Verizon and Nextel / Sprint. Both have 2 or 3 bars downtown. I think they share towers because the reception is the same. You get great reception North and West of town near the highway. Buildings reduce already marginal reception in town. My house is downtown Alma and I have to stand against the window to get service and I still get dropped calls. I bought a Verizon Network Extender and now I have 5 bars. The Verizon Network Extender is basically VOIP (i.e. Vonage). $250 one time cost but no additional monthly fees unlike Nextel / Sprint.

Phone constantly searches for a signal. Usually "No Service" interruptions, and dropped calls. Very sketchy. Don't know how it will be when Verizon takes over... .
