Basically no reception. Calls drop all the time. Can't make calls at all from ground floor. T-Mobile logged my ticket about poor coverage and closed it without telling me. When I called back they said - "our maps say you have great coverage, so we closed your ticket without investigating it." Ugh! That's the point - the maps are WRONG!

I need to qualify my rating. I get pretty much fine reception around the city of Ann Arbor. However, on t he University of Michigan campus if I enter a building I lose reception completely. I short, while other people are answering their calls in the Hatcher and Shapiro library, or getting text messages in the Modern Language Building or in Rackham, I am "Emergency Calls Only". Point being, reception in buildings on U of M campus is "0", around the town of Ann Arbor it's a "4".

Usually have 6 bars (out of 7), call quality is good, I've been with them for 7 years, no complaints - works well in other areas of Ann Arbor (Medical center, North campus).

Virtually All Over Ann Arbor, Ann Arbor, MI 48104 |

1-2 bars is my average reception all over the town. I have had full coverage at Arborland Mall but almost nowhere else. Regularly have fluctuating reception shuttling rapidly from 0-6 bars and virtually every call over 1 minute is dropped. Three handset replacements later.. no difference. I will not be staying with T-Mobile and I can't understand for all cell services why Americans put up with such shoddy coverage in major conurbations.

A year ago I switched to T-Mobile from Verizon just because I felt like it. Verizon works decently all over campus, but reception in the libraries, basements, middle of buildings, etc is very limited. T-Mobile is great everywhere. I get 3 or 4 bars inside both the undergrad and engineering libraries, in the basement of my house, and pretty much every university building. I highly recommend T-Mobile for this area.

I live in Orchard Grove, I can not use my phone at all in this park or on Scio Church or Waters Rd. I work in a ware house on Airport Dr. and it does not work in there and most of the time it will not work in Meijers or Target.

I get absolutely no recepton in my apartment or outside, until I walk up to Plymouth Rd. The T-Mobile technician said enhancements are scheduled for the tower possibly in the next three months, until then I can't use my phone. T-Mobile has been unwilling to negotiate or let me out of the contract even though I don't have service. They just cycle me through their rude customer service representatives. I've checked Cingular service in my apartment and it gets six bars in our apartment. I'll probably switch to Cingular, since I get no signal with T-mobile.

I used to have Sprint and my coverage wasn't as bad as T-Mobile in my house. I live on the corner of Vinewood and Geddes and my phone rings in the house on the first floor but cuts off when I answer it all the time. If i'm lucky I'll get 2 bars. I have to go up in the atticl to get at least a couple of bars and be able to call without drops. It also cuts out in the area along Vinewood towards Washtenaw. I'm not realy satisfied with T-Mobile in this area.

I don't know why, but T-Mobile service inside Briarwood is terrible. The worst areas seem to be inside JC Penney (no service whatsoever) and occasionally Marshal Field's. If you enter a store there's a considerable drop in bars, but if you stay out in the main hallways it's OK.

In general, I'm very pleased with T-Mobile..Good service at great prices. Service on campus is pretty good, with one glaring exception: once you enter pretty much any university building I lose all service. This is particularly bad in the MLB and Angell Hall (service drops once I enter the building, but comes back if / when I reach the Fishbowl). It's kind of frustrating, but at least I don't have to worry about putting my phone on silent during class :P
