Very pleased with the reception I get on my Treo 600. I frequently have service when friends with Verizon have no service. One example is in the basement of the Business School where I always have good service but friends frequently have no service.

During weekdays peak times, every calls drops within a couple of minutes. The number of bars fluctuates quite a bit. This has been a recent (post March-2005 phenomenon) -- the reception quality used to be better earlier.

I love T-Mobile. Plain and simple. My phone is so cool, I get embarrased to put peoples name in my phone because it's creates an immediate "wow, sweet phone" Oh and the reception is awesome.

Just completing 2 years with Verizon. Never had a problem anywhere in Ann Arbor, (or Hamburg Twsp. chain of lakes area.) Inside the house I get 4 bars... even on the lower level. Used phone everyday in car as I work in my car all day driving all over the Ann Arbor area. In two years the only problem I've had is 2 dropped calls! My contract expires in two weeks, and I was researching other carriers so that I could get a new phone for free. After reading all of these comments I guess I will stay with Verizon and keep my old phone, or pay out of my own pocket for a new one.

Reception has been very good on the west side of Ann Arbor. Other carriers drop out going over the hill at the woods on Liberty west of Wagner, but Nextel rarely does.

I've had Nextel for about 3 years and I've been satisfied for the majority of the time. As with any carrier, there are times when the signal gets weak, but I rarely have dropped calls - even in the basement of my three story brick apartment building. No matter which carrier you go with, you are going to be dissatisfied with the service - I think you will be the least dissatisfied with Nextel.

Upon entering any building, including my home, the signal drops to nothing. I'm afraid of needing to stand on my porch all winter whenever I need to be on the phone. Completely unacceptable.

I have been with Nextel for 6 years and I have watched the service (both cellular and customer) decline greatly. At my home I get the "no service" all the time. The Direct Connect works the best, when there is service, but cell calls are very bad. Most times I have to end the call because I can't hear anything, so nextel wont recognize that as a dropped call. A few weeks ago I checked the portability of my phone number at a service provider website, within a day I had four calls from nextel offering to review my plan with them. I calle dthem today about another issue and to review my plan, and they didn't want to discuss it. I've paid about $150 and month for two phones (primarily using the Direct Connect) for the past six years, and this is how nextel treats me. With all the free mobile to mobile plans out there, I think that I can find one with better all around service.

This provider / phone has terrible reception in the Ypsilanti Area. Even if you have a 2-3 bars as soon as you make or get a call your reception drops to nearly zero. It get's spotty reception in Ann Arbor and zero at the WCC campus.

I was fooled by the T-Mobile dealer as they said that T-Mobile was better than AT&T, but they were wrong! I got fair signals in Mosher Jordan 5th floor in my room, but not in the kitchen. Absolutely no signals on 1st floor nor in Stockwell, although the signal light is flashing green with one bar. I'm so disappointed with them.

I can not get reception in many areas in Ann Arbor, including U of M campus buildings. Other people get reception in the basement, while my phone is still out of reception on the fourth floor.

Calls frequently get dropped, or do not connect altogether. Otherwise, Nextel reception is great in Ann Arbor.

In my house in Kerry Town area of Ann Arbor my T610's signal fluctuates wildly, but calls are clear and don't drop, so the signal is good enough for me.

I'm very impressed with T-Mobile's reception in my office here on North Campus, I switched from Sprint PCS which had fairly low reception in this area.

Nextel is the 4th network I have subscribed to. Leaving one to go to the next did me no good as nextel has turned out to be the worst celluar phone carrier I have experienced in my 12 year cellular usage. The phone drops about 50 percent of all calls, or wont even recieve a call, but notify you of voicemail hours after the caller told me they called! Worst of all they are totaly shameless in their pitch..."How business gets done." I think not

Overall reception is pretty good all over Ann Arbor. I have not tried basement in North Campus so not sure about that but inside Media Union it works fine. Also when I was in Central, it didn't work inside a building away from windows. Otherwise it's great!
