We have five phones with Cingular and none of them get reception in our home or yard. They are saying we too many trees. They won't let us out of our contract to change to verizon.

Reception used to be impossible before Cingular bought AT&T. Now it's the best. (Even in the basement)

Doubtful reception in this area; calls almost invariably drop in quality or complete signal loss on 14 Mi while passing the water tower between Southfield and Woodward. Indoor reception very poor.

Am making calls in a building 3 feet from window. Bars of reception will change from 5 to 0 during calls causing loss of connection. Reading other user comments gives me little hope with any carrier.

My story: Lived in Royal Oak for three years. Horrible reception, dropped calls, straight-to-voicemail for a majority of incoming callers. Stayed in Detroit temporarily while waiting for my new place in Birmingham to close. Reception was fine -- perhaps even 100 percent. Got into my new B'ham place this week. Back to atrocious. More missed calls than ever. Friends and family all asking: "Why don't you pick up your phone anymore?" Nearly every incoming call going straight to voicemail, no ring on my end. Closing chapter of my story: I'm finally going to ditch Sprint. I'm sick of it. Oakland County, Mich., is one of the most populous and affluent areas in the United States. There's no excuse for this mess.
