My reception changed within the last 18 months. I am now appearing in a section that only gets Fair reception: 3 bars on a good day. Cannot use the phone in my home without dropping signal. Sometimes up to 3 - 4 times per conversation. You can watch the signal vary between 3 bars and roaming. Sprint sent a modem booster that has to be installed through my cable modem. Didn't work. I give up. Changing services.

Me and the wife both have iPhone 3g's. They are Totally unusable in the house,like being on the moon or something! Kinda Pisses me off actually. Phones are great mostly everywhere else. WTF!

ATT's 3G network is perfect in this area. But Edge is bad, about 1 or 2 bars in this area.

good coverage most of the time. 5 bars in every part of my house. sometimes not as great in big stores like kohls, but I think that might be typical of lots of carriers

Bad reception, poor call quality and some dropped calls. ATT signal is very bad in this area

I used to get great service - early 2006 - now I only get 2 bars max and difficulty with reception. Not too many dropped calls just can't hear them or they can't hear me.

Verizon reports as known trouble spot with no ETA on fixing

Here is a happy Verizon customer! I had trouble with Cingular in my office in the Renaissance Center, and switched to Verizon two years ago. I am renewing my contract next month.

No problems unless in a "newer basement". strange I know but this is my experience. I live in a 1972 home in the basement and NEVER have any problems. I switched FROM Verizon for this reason.

I never could use my phon in this area. Cingular network here is very bad.

Typically, I get two bars, within my home, south of 7 Mile, East of Beech. There is a fairly new tower, in the park, along Pickford, by my receiption sucks. I have to stand outside to get any reception, which isn't always practical. My boyfriend has a different model of Samsung, also through Cingular, and just traded a Nokia in, for that one... his reception sucks. My brother has a Samsung, though T-Mobile and also can't get reception within my house.

I suffered with very poor reception for a couple of years at this location using my Motorola flip phone. Dropouts occurred so often I avoided using it. When I got a Sanyo phone dropouts were eliminated. Lesson? Same service, different brand / model phones have VERY DIFFERENT performance!

Never dropped a call since I've had my phone / plan from summer 2000. Works even in my basement where Sprint and T-Mobile don't. I also am able to use it from inside my Dearborn, MI 48124 office building where other carriers had / have trouble. I have a cell phone mainly for emergencies - what's a mobile phone good for if you cannot get a signal? Other than the price, Verizon works for me.

I used to have a lot of dropped calls in my house. But they are all gone ever since I got my 4900 which is widely known as a phone with the best reception. Now that this 4900 is beaten up, its antenna falling off, I don't know what phone to chose any more. Some said the replacement 4920 isn't nearly as good.

Verizon Wireless has never given me a problem! We got away from AT&T before Cingular Ruined them. Billing is a little confusing.

Was good 2 yrs ago (switched from Sprint). Now it blows. Perhaps Verizon cannot handle the new call volumes. I will switch again when the contract ends.

There is very little reception. When I do make calls, I experiance at least two dropped calls per conversation. T-Mobile claims that they have "excellent" reception. NO evidence of this.

With a perfect signal, I get terrible voice reception. My calls, whether placed or recieved seem to be scrambled. There are at least a dozen people on our floor that have terrible service. If you are downtown and are either ATT or Cingular, you're gambling with your calls. Cingular has shown little to no concern in my numerous efforts to get this resolved. They would rather charge me hundreds of dollars and move me from ATT to Cingular to see if this resolves the problem. Looks like after many years of being a happy ATT customer, I'm headed to Verizon!

I got unlucky and moved into a house where the reception for Cingular is completely unacceptable. There seems to be a dead spot in this area, and I live smack dab in the middle of it. I am now stuck in a contract with a phone that I cannot even use.
