I was having horrible network problems with AT&T. My phone would show all 5 bars, but my calls were dropped, my phone would switch from 3G to EDGE all the time, calls was garbley. Verizon is very strong here and I'm happy for the switch. I use the iPhone as a iPod touch. Can't wait for Verizon to get this baby!
At house north of McNichols, every call lasting more than 10-20 seconds gets dropped (0-1 bars), but 0.5 miles away at U of D Mercy, I have no problem at all.
i do not like them I got charger 3 times ilast week and today from $45.00 to $50.00 say because micigan tax went up with in 2 weeks. so I i am change to boost mobile.
I just switched my service from Sprint to AT&T on Thursday. I don't have my phone yet, but anything should be better than Sprint so I'll start by rating the service as good. I had numerous dropped calls daily, I could barely use it in my house and the basement is definitely a BIG NO NO! I'm frequently downtown on the riverfront / Ren Cen area and my Sprint service picks up Canada's towers, in which I get charged for international roaming if I choose to answer my phone. My godmother has AT&T and her service is great! She can pretty much use her phone anywhere and the sound quality is good even on the riverfront. I'm hoping that I'm not gonna be disappointed with their service. I really don't think it gets much worse than Sprint / Nextel. LITERALLY!
Reception is okay. I rarely drop a call. I work for the Detroit Medical Center at one of the hospitals. If you plan on working there you may want to get a Verizon phone because they are the only ones who get service. Luckily I can roam with my Sprint for free on Verizon, but I'm going to make the switch to Verizon when my contract is up.
This is a work unit, I work both out of Detroit and Pontiac. In a place where I can use my phone, and hang up and loose service, and wait a second in the same place it returns service. Same for Detroit I-96 and Greenfield. Same thing happens, except if I'm standing right next to someone on the same plan, same phone. I loose service, but they don't. I'm a Verizon Customer, I get good reception, even in the deep woods of Port Huron, where all other companies are roaming. BUT because Verizon doesn't know how to give good service and be competive with their pricing, they wanta up charge for the same services, I have bit my tounge and switched back to Sprint. In which I switched to Verizon from! But right now I still have both, and will cancel one as soon as my contract is up. Holla!
I can not use my phone in my basement or kitchen. my phone roams alot on Hubbell at my kids school. It also drops calls and most of the time I can't get any reception in the Hubbell / fenkell area. As much as Sprint charge for there service. I should be able to use my phone where ever.
I have had Sprint with LG phone before, no signal now I have T-Mobile with Samsung phone and still no signal what am I supposed to do ? live in the street to be able to use my cell or gave up the cellphone idea altogether ?!
