I have had Sprint with LG phone before, no signal now I have T-Mobile with Samsung phone and still no signal what am I supposed to do ? live in the street to be able to use my cell or gave up the cellphone idea altogether ?!

Much better than Nextel or Sprint. Full strength in and out of house. Works on WSU campus... Nextel switches over to "Telus" they're Candian counterpart.

Poor general reception indoors and bad echo, conversations terrible as all one hears is one's own voice repeating overtop of the other end of the line. Additionally, Nextel could not port a Farminton Hills number to downtown Detroit because it was out of the area; however they assigned a number from Utah and said it was a "new Detroit area code". Several months later when (through family members) I discovered the number was registered in Utah, Nextel refused all responsibility and said it was my fault for not recognizing the number as a Utah area code. Needless to say I terminated the service, then incurring the extra penalty for early disconnect. Nextel representatives were completely unwilling to waive any fees or accept any responsibilty whatsoever.

Useless here, it's worse than a paper weight

If you live on campus at Wayne State through your Nextel in the trash. It's useless inside and outside I might as well have 2 cans with a string attached, and that's only if I get a signal.

Have complained for at least five years about weak signals, poor or no reception and static, not just my phone but on many others including neighbors and friends at this location. The problem exists throughout the City of Detroit. In cities around Detroit I don't have this problem.

whenerver I enter this area there is no service within 2 miles inside of the home or outside in the streets, very poor choice in service

I wouldn't consider another phone service company for overall coverage and customer service T-Mobile is by far the best.

Although the number of bars is usually low, call quality doesn't seem to be affected at all. Other owners of this phone have encountered the same problem so it may be an issue with the phone rather than the reception. I've heard that Samsung is issuing an update; hopefully that will fix it.

i never miss or drop a call Verizon is the best... . i have made calls in tunnels and perfect... i drove from detroit to chicago and talked all the way... the next best thing to having someone next to you in the car... .

Nextel absolutely sucks! I got an expensive plan and an expensive phone and I only wish I'd checked this site first! Do not by Nextel in Detroit.

i do not like them I got charger 3 times ilast week and today from $45.00 to $50.00 say because micigan tax went up with in 2 weeks. so I i am change to boost mobile.

Never dropped calls, rarely drop internet connection and can make calls in bathroom (Concrete Walls).. 3 - 5 Bars 97% of the time.

Drop calls in the building and drop internet connection frequently. Always 1 2 or no bars..

Chronic "No Network Coverage" all over the Indian Village area, and at best two bars when it works. I am cancelling my ATT contract - as soon as I find a carrier that does not "redline" Detroit.

we have had Cingular for years and love it. we recommend it to everyone. customer service is good and so are service packages.

Two bars in / out of house. Same result with old phone (samsung sch-u550). Dropped calls occur in basement.

At house north of McNichols, every call lasting more than 10-20 seconds gets dropped (0-1 bars), but 0.5 miles away at U of D Mercy, I have no problem at all.

In my house I get full bars and ever where around this area. I get full bars. Only thing is sometimes people can not hear me on this phone though I think the microphone on GSM RAZR's are very bad. My friend has a metro PCS RAZR V3c and hears is clear I can tell that i'm being heard through the other end. I am gonna upgrade / downgrade to a Samsung t329 since I found my 6.0 FujiFilm Megapixel camera and got a 5th 30GB Generation iPod Video for Christmas.
