I used MetroPCS flawlessly for a year and a half at Michigan State University. Keyword is used. My phone worked perfectly fine for over a year, almost two, (back in 2010 and on through 2011) until it hit just about the winter of 2011- then my phone stopped working entirely up in East Lansing. When I traveled home to Clawson, the reception was fine! I could make all calls perfectly. So I bought a new phone in hopes that it would work up in East Lansing. Nothing. I have visited a store to help fix the problem and have had no luck. The problem simply seems to be: there's no reception.

Drop calls all the time, cant send or receive texts often, internet rarely works. Terrible service on MSU campus.

I pay a ton of money for data / texting / calling and a bunch of money on my new phone to do all of this. I would think that in the middle of east lansing I would get service on my phone. NOPE. I cannot make phone calls in my dorm room nor have I ever been able to receive one. My texts send SOMETIMES if I go near the door. However, even if I leave my phone in a place that it says I have bars, I will not receive any texts till possibly hours after someone sent them to me. No internet at all. At&T's service has been absolutely no help. I recommend Verizon for this area.

Reception inside of any msu building is very sucky..I have absolutely no service in my dorm either..the only time have coverage is when I'm outside other than that none at all..my phone barely rings and when I get calls and answer them the call drops..very whack reception

I get horrible reception in my apartment. I get 0-1 bars and even when it shows that I have 1 bar I sometimes can't make a phone call. I can't find one place in my apartment (or outside) that gets better coverage, it's just unpredictable. I rarely receive incoming calls. I usually get their voicemail 1-12 hours later!

JUNK reception. Everytime I enter a building on campus I'll be lucky if I can make a call.

T-Mobile is absolutely terrible at MSU! I barely ever get service in my dorm, and I have to stay in one spot for the crappy signal that I do get. Calls drop all the time, and I pretty much only get service outside. T-Mobile is basically a bad idea if you go to Michigan State.

I get no bars in my apartment. Occassionally it'll show that I have a couple and I'll quickly make a phone calls. A few minutes in, it drops it. I get zero reception outside on the balcony. I get one bar to zero reception in the PARKINGLOT. Lately I've been driving several miles away from my apartment, so I can TALK ON MY OWN PHONE, and when I get to a place that has full reception, the call drops anyway a few minutes in. I'm SO happy I have a 500 dollar phone that I cannot use. More bars in more places? Yah, except in your OWN HOME. I talked to AT&T. The guy gave me a new sim card and said it should solve it. Didn't make any difference. AT&T is now telling me to take it up with Apple. Apple's protection plan specifically states it does not fix phones in terms of poor reception or signal problems, and that its AT&T's fault. Them pointing fingers at eachother is not making my phone work... .

I have no bars at my home or at my college (MSU). I am glad that Customer Service was good and allow me to cancel the contract without any charge (That's what they promise). Don't use T-Mobile here. It is pathetic and also WIFI at home won't work with MSU wireless connection for some reason.

Sure am glad I spent all that $ on my iPhone! I have ONE bar in the parking lot of my apt. and "No Service" reads on the display as soon as I walk into my apartment. I now have a $500 piece of junk with no reception and an $80+ wireless phone bill every month! Lucky... ..lucky me.

Very disappointing. I'm barely able to get a call out of my house. 1 bar-2 if I'm standing in the right spot. I had zero issues with my old work cell which was a Motorola 850 series on Verizon's network.

This is Ville Montee apartments. It is hard to stay connected in conversations unless I sit at the porch or by the window. It is extremely unreliable.

I've had AT&T wireless (Now Cingular) for 6 years... this is the first location, I've had a poor reception. One of the Cingular store guys told that City of East Lansing would not permit them to install a tower in the city and that's the reason for the poor coverage. Whatever the reason the consumer suffers with dropped calls and intermediate connectivity.

Barely got anything in my dorm room, when I went in the hallways I couldnt get anything, had to go outside most of the time. customer service, contrary to popular belief, is horrible. I would recommend getting a blackberry instead of a Sidekick if u live anywhere along Bogue street.

I can't call my friend in Colorado Springs and it's irking me quite verily. It has trouble in freaking DENVER too. You'd think Verizon might at least have most of the major tourist areas and large cities covered, but then you think: wait, no, that's Sprint. So, in conclusion: Dear Verizon, I hate you. I lose calls frequently with Nextel, and have had quite a few erroneous charges on my bill. I used Sprint prior to Nextel, but felt like I was losing quite a few calls and was unhappy with their customer service. Though I seem to lose calls with Nextel, I feel like I still have a signal when quite a few of my friends using other providers do not. I'd like to find more out about Verizon though.
