Reception is awful with AT&T. I tried switching phones from SonyEricsson Z520 to Nokia 6126 but reception is still 1 or 2 bars and conversations choppy. My wife has a Motorola Razr and just about every call she makes from inside our house drops at least once. She has to end her conversations as she approaches our neighborhood as they will drop 90% of the time. We both upgraded our SIM card (AT&T recommendation) but it didn't help. We're very interested in finding a new provider.

Called customer disservice (on landline) and was told my house is in service area and not to use phone inside. Was quiet when I said the reception was bad in the middle of the street. They will not discount or allow early termination.

Dropped calls and two bars at the most. Verizon needs to fix this hole.

Phone works most of time while driving around near my house but drops MANY calls in my house (even on top floor where signal is stronger). Very often phone doesn't ring when people call. 11 Mile and Orchard Lake is a total black hole, I have NEVER driven through that intersection and kept a call. Called Sprint about both home and 11 / Orch. locations and got usual run around.

I have had Verizon and Cingluar and neither work in my area. I would offer my backyard as a potential tower location if it would help.

The reception is ok. But I dont like Verizon for other reasons. Worried about switching too. Coz not many goos alternatives in this area according to other reviews.

No Service frequently. Poor to no reception most of the time. Co worker has the same model phone with the same service problems.

We called Verizon numerous times due to dropped calls at any time of the day. We have never seen more than 3 bars on the phone. Usually we get 0, 1 or 2 bars. After many complains to Verizon we found out that this area is known for bad coverage. One and a half years ago Verizon said that they would add a tower at Drake and 13 Mile Rd but could not give a specific date. Apparently there was no tower added because we continue to drop calls frequently. I can't tell you how much we look forward to the 2 year contract expiration day, so that we can drop Verizon for a change. We are currently just dumping money down the drain.

Service used to work fine. Last 6 mos. loss of signals (regardless of phone type) especially at rush hour times.

Great outside. however sometimes in the house I get only 2 or 3. but outside is great.

I've had Verizon Wireless since May of 2003 and the reception has always been top notch in my area (see above). 5 bars on all phones I had which included LG VX10, Samsung SCH-A300, and now Kyocera KX1v and Samsung SCH-N330. Drop calls are extremely rare. Call quality is relatively good. Two major concerns are Customer Service and Billing Statements. You need to be an educated consumer to deal with their customer service, otherwise you may see some charges on your bill. Billing statements are very confusing. As long as you are not going over your minutes, you are OK, but if you do, good luck figuring it out on the statement. All in all, I chose Verizon over Cingular and Sprint anytime.

Cingular sucks! There is no reception in many areas of Farmington Hills. Take heed anyone thinking of going with Cingular. So many times people tell me I sound like a robot, and just as many times garbled. Any one living in the Farmington Rd. and 13 mile area..forget it, No Service! So many short comings... I used to have Verizon and I will again. I never had a reception or lost call problem EVER. I lose calls on a daily basis with Cingular.

Terrible! Can't use the phone inside the house.

Sprint is absolute disaster. Their tower is within 1 mile radius, still very poor signal in the area and zero signal inside the apartment.

Absolutely horrible reception. Upon complaint they initial told me that they know its a blckhole. Upon requesting that they therefore relieve me of the contract; they changed their argument to "It's the building and the trees." Cingular customer services is clueless in this matter and so is their outlet. It's a horrible company from a customer service perspective.

Reception is terrible in this area. Phone cuts out regularly and most of the time I don't receive calls. This area is a blackhole for cingular.
