The reception is ok. But I dont like Verizon for other reasons. Worried about switching too. Coz not many goos alternatives in this area according to other reviews.

We called Verizon numerous times due to dropped calls at any time of the day. We have never seen more than 3 bars on the phone. Usually we get 0, 1 or 2 bars. After many complains to Verizon we found out that this area is known for bad coverage. One and a half years ago Verizon said that they would add a tower at Drake and 13 Mile Rd but could not give a specific date. Apparently there was no tower added because we continue to drop calls frequently. I can't tell you how much we look forward to the 2 year contract expiration day, so that we can drop Verizon for a change. We are currently just dumping money down the drain.

Service used to work fine. Last 6 mos. loss of signals (regardless of phone type) especially at rush hour times.

Great outside. however sometimes in the house I get only 2 or 3. but outside is great.

I've had Verizon Wireless since May of 2003 and the reception has always been top notch in my area (see above). 5 bars on all phones I had which included LG VX10, Samsung SCH-A300, and now Kyocera KX1v and Samsung SCH-N330. Drop calls are extremely rare. Call quality is relatively good. Two major concerns are Customer Service and Billing Statements. You need to be an educated consumer to deal with their customer service, otherwise you may see some charges on your bill. Billing statements are very confusing. As long as you are not going over your minutes, you are OK, but if you do, good luck figuring it out on the statement. All in all, I chose Verizon over Cingular and Sprint anytime.
