I've had Altell for a few years. Initially I signed up with Century Tel (later bought by Altell) because they had service here and at our home in Lansing. Over time reception has improved as the technology improved and tower locations increased. Recently I noticed improvement by getting a new phone (LG AX245). I'd say the signal strength shown on the phone immediately increased one or two bars on average both here and in Lansing.

Many areas in Benzie county are extremely poor to no reception with Alltel and this phone. As it does not receive an analog signal, calls are constantly being dropped or will not go through at all.
