My service was fine until Verizon took ove altel. Now all my calls are dropped unless I'm standing outside. I understand that AtT is much better in this area. I'v been fighting with these dropped called for years. Wehn my contract is up next month, I'm switching to Att. Until Verizon wants to get a tower in my neighborhood, I will have to jump ship. Put some towers up. It's SIMPLE. I wish I didn't have to leave but Verizon is doing nothing and evidently many people are bothered.

Signal is terrible between Covell Ave NW all the way to Maynard Ave on M-45. Best is 1 bar and very choppy calls. Time of day affects signal too. Is completely dead north of Oakleigh toward Seventh St.

Phone drops out between Oakleigh and Kinney NW, can sometimes pick up signal in Standale just east of Kinney and then drops again.

I have found Verizon to be the best service in the G.R. area after trying Sprint and Alltel first. It has worked where I needed it to which I cannot say about the other carriers.

Can you hear me now???? Not if you have Verizon as your carrier and you are traveling in northern Michigan! We camp during the summer months in many areas of northen Michigan and our Verizon service was non-existant. When we called Verizon, they said we needed to call them from our cell phone and let them know when we were not getting service... HELLO! No service! How can I call you??! The customer service rep didn't have an answer for that, so not only are their phones and service crappy, their customer service people are morons.

I get anywhere from 0 to 5 bars, all within 15 minutes. Calls dropped almost every time I call from home. Verizon tells me to update phone every time I call. It makes no difference. A new phone did not help. Verizon says, "We cannot guarantee coverage inside a building." I ask "Even a wood frame house?" They say "if you call from the basement"! I say "I never call from the basement." They are unimpressed. They say if I terminate my plan, I will be charged an early termination fee, because I am "in their coverage area." I wonder -- what kind of coverage?!

Best service around, there are very few places I do not get a good signal.

Like many other reviews I am reading, I have Verizon and I cannot get service in my home. It is very sporadic and drops calls constantly. Also driving down Grand River towards Ada I have problems with drop calls. Everywhere else seems to be pretty good coverage, except where I use it the most.

3400 LG and other Verizon phones no service. Cingular works great in this area

Cannot get a signal in the Rivertown Crossings mall or in the Allendale area - just forget about it. I can be sitting at home and not moving around, but if I get a call it will just drop out, even with 4-5 bars showing. Service is spotty, nice person one minute, non-existent service the next. They keep trying to over charge me.
