I get really good service here except for in my basement.

Its close to were I live and I never loose calls with this server.

Can you hear me now???? Not if you have Verizon as your carrier and you are traveling in northern Michigan! We camp during the summer months in many areas of northen Michigan and our Verizon service was non-existant. When we called Verizon, they said we needed to call them from our cell phone and let them know when we were not getting service... HELLO! No service! How can I call you??! The customer service rep didn't have an answer for that, so not only are their phones and service crappy, their customer service people are morons.

Sprint is really wierd in Grand Rapids. In some Places, such as downtown, it works even in the basement of the college with full reception. However, as soon as you leave downtown proper, reception drops to crap.

T-Mobile is by far the worst carrier. Even in downtown Grand Rapids and my home on the Northwest side... ..I can't get any bars, get cut off or the service comes on and off and my phone beeps. Even with this poor service, they WILL NOT let you out of your contract. Not recommended!

I've tried -T-moblie (worst), -AT&T (Poor near home, but not indoors, and spotty away from major Express ways) -Nextel (Spotty, fair near home, not indoors) -Verizon (Best reception at home, but tried 5 phones before trying Motorola Startac, Which they will not cover anymore, because it is not GPS capable) -I Have Alltel now, it has the the best coverage including the U.P. I tried 4 phones before trying the LG Lx5450. It is spotty inside the house, but is better than most. I set up my son a Motorola V262, it actually works inside, It even shows 2 bars, when my contract expires I will be changing to all V262s.

I had a Samsung phone intially with absolutely little to no reception inside my home. It was suggested I try the newer Nokia model as they have much greater reception. To no avail. T-moblie has no phones of any kind that allow acceptable reception within my home. I have to talk on my back porch and even at that, I have only one bar of service and reception cuts in and out constantly! If you live in this area: plan on Very chilly winter phone conversations because you have to stand outside!

T-Mobile's reception in the Northwest side isn't the best but it's much better than Nextel. Cingular's reception in the Northwest side is very good. The Nokia 6600 Smartphone is fantastic and seldom has dropped calls, although reception with the "freebie" phones from T-Mobile didn't do well at all in my area.

Only network on campus that has great reception. I get perfect reception in every building on campus, as well as all areas surrounding. No complaints.
