Long time T-Mobile user in the Grand Rapids area. Small zones where service drops but overall excellent carrier to have. Their policies, prices, and customer service have all been better than my the other carriers in my experience. Data speed on HSPA is quite good.

3G is weak but acceptable indoors, fine outdoors. Very rarely do I have dropped calls. Voice is clear as well, no crackles. 4G service, on the other hand, is abyssmal in this area and practically a scam. I have to cross the street and stand in the park for 4G, and then it is weak.

I had Nextel for 7 years, and had good reception, recently I switched to Sprint because I wanted more phone features. I have had very good serivce with Sprint, I never drop calls, and seem to always have signal for calling all over the State. Internet is good, connection is either fast or not available, I find that I will occasionally have a spot where I will not get internet, but usually if I just refresh I will pick up signal again. Internet mostly goes out in Rural areas, guess you can't help that. G3 service is fast and steady, and the built in navigation is accurate, and consistant. Overall a wonderful service, I just wish there were more apps for my smart phone.

I have found Verizon to be the best service in the G.R. area after trying Sprint and Alltel first. It has worked where I needed it to which I cannot say about the other carriers.

I've really had many problems with Nextel over the few years I've been with them. Mostly dropped calls, problems where service just stops. I sometimes have full bars but my phone will say no service. It's not been a great time with them. I'm looking to switch and trying to figure out who get's the least dropped calls in this area and around here. I travel a lot for work so I need durability with my phone and strong signals wherever I go. Help! haha.

Sprint is really wierd in Grand Rapids. In some Places, such as downtown, it works even in the basement of the college with full reception. However, as soon as you leave downtown proper, reception drops to crap.

I don't get many bars and it makes it hard to talk to anyone. I'm very displeased and I am still hoping to find out a way to change that.

My service was fine until Verizon took ove altel. Now all my calls are dropped unless I'm standing outside. I understand that AtT is much better in this area. I'v been fighting with these dropped called for years. Wehn my contract is up next month, I'm switching to Att. Until Verizon wants to get a tower in my neighborhood, I will have to jump ship. Put some towers up. It's SIMPLE. I wish I didn't have to leave but Verizon is doing nothing and evidently many people are bothered.
