I've never dropped a call. Reception is crystal clear on my 4G Samsung GalaxyS. I'd recommend T-mobile. I recently spent time in Madison Heights / Troy area of I-75 and Stephenson Hwy. and had no problems there either.

trees and lake st. clair and brick houses make reception pretty bad in grosse pointe woods. my Sprint phone roams while in my family room or gets no service at all. you constantly see people standing in their driveways, hoping to get better service than inside their houses.

Service used to be great (been with Verizon for over 6 years)! Until this summer when I am lucky to get 2 bars standing outside on a good day. I have lost service booth inside my house and standing on my driveway! The technician submitted a ticket for the problem and has no explanation for why the service is so bad. She said that there used to be service in the GP area but now the ENTIRE area shows no service. I would expect better service, especially as a small business owner who runs his business from his phone!

I'm glad that I have 30 days in which to return this phone if I'm not satisfied. Can't use half it's functions at home. Works fine out of GP but I live in GP. Go figure... .Tom Danahey

I had same phone with T-Mobile before and I had no bars (nothign at all) I had to go out the house and wait for 5 minutes to get 1 bars when lucky. most of the time with T mobile I was getting Canadian Rogers as roaming since their signal was stronger that tmobile's. Morons at T-Mobile could not understand it. I switched to ATT and I have 5 bars all the time anywhere in this area.

Horrible reception in area of home, even if I walk around my yards. Inside the house, there is simply no signal whatsoever. Can't believe that in this day and age, Cingular / ATT can't do better than this. I need to find a carrier that works in this area of Grosse Pointe Woods.

The only service I get in Grosse Pointe Park comes from Canada - not T-Mobile. T-Mobile sucks.

Tends to work very well in the heart of GPC. However, the closer you get to Jefferson, the worse the reception.

All calls either break up and sound bad, or are dropped. Even dailing is a horrible sound. Forget about making a call from the CVS pharmacy on Mack or any other single story store on Mack. Driving up and down Mack breaks up. I don't know why reception strenght bars shows strong. Elsewhere it works fine. Up in Ontario, Canada sounds like the person I'm talking to is right next to me.

Very happy with phone and service. Home is 2 short blocks f / intersection. Good service generally around the Grosse Pointe area, and even get one bar in the basement.

If I could get connected to Cingular as much as Rogers wireless in Canada it would be great. No recption in the house. I have to drive at least 2 miles west away from the lake to even get anything. the guy who said he switched from Verizon to Cingular over on morningside either works for Cingular or is nuts Verizon is the only 1 I have had any luck with here.

3 phones in the family, all same model, all of which are nearly unusable inside the house with dropped calls and poor sound quality. Barely acceptable service outside wondering around in the back or front yard like a fool. Other phones using competitive services seem to not have any problems.

If you go on the T-Mobile website and check coverage on my street it is extremely poor. I have called over the past year and T-Mobile says that they cannot add any towers in my area because local zoning laws prohibit it. I need to find a good carrier in my spot. Otherwise, T-Mobile has been good to me, but what is the point in paying for a cell phone that doesn't work in your own house?

I switched from Verizon to Cingular in early March 2006. I am very happy with my choice to do so. I travel to all the Grosse Pointes everyday and I never get less than 3 bars which is amazing. Even on Lakeshore I get no less than 3 bars. In my home I get amazing reception also. The only place I don't is in my basement but no wireless carrier is that perfect. Most of my family lives out by Clinton Township and Rochester. Whenever I go out there I have full coverage. I recommend Cingular to anyone. It has great reception. GO CINGULAR!

Nextel is the worst mobile phone service on the planet. No service in most of the Grosse Pointe area, like the Village. And now that Nextel has merged with Sprint, the only thing they can offer me is to switch to Sprint, but first -- you have to buy a new phone, or if you want one for free -- you have to start a new 2-yr agreement! Is that a scam or what?

my husband has Nextel and in our area his calls drop not to mention that the sound quality is very poor, however, on my Verizon phone, I can talk in my house, on the road and even on lakeshore where no one gets reception. my sound quality is excellent and people do not know that I am not on a house phone.

Nextel cannot answer why reception is so bad and even non existent. I am so frustrated, they tell us that the i-730 now needs a metal clip in it's mainframe chip, but you have to go and get it installed. I tell you what if my service doesn't correct I'm going to make Motorola take my phone back for good.

Hit or miss reception -- the most I get in my house (on Hollywood) is 1 bar, more often 0. Outside up to 2 bars. Either way, terrible reception.

AT&T / Cingular wireless GSM - No service when manually tracking networks within home. Can't make / receive any calls. Rogers (Canadian Carrier) when automatically tracking networks. AT&T / Cingular really needs to get its act together. I'm going back to Verizon wireless (always had good reception), don't know what I was thinking by switching over to AT&T. Thank god I'm still within my 30 day grace period. Bye bye AT&T wireless... good riddance for that!
