Most of the time we cannot use our cell phones when we are either inside or outside our house. There are days when we will periodically get up to 2 bars of signal strength. All of our neighbors have the same problem and as a result most of the time they cannot use their cell phones. Ironically, when we are at our cottage in Michigan's Upper Peninsula (20 miles west of St. Ignace) we get excellent signal strength.

Verizon is really poor in this area. Almost every call is dropped. The TV adds and coverage maps are false advertising!

One, maybe two bars. I have calls drop on me all the time from inside and around my apartment. I live on the top floor so I should get better reception.

I think you need to base your cell phone company on where you need to use it the most. I want to use mine primarily for making long distance calls from home, and there's a Nextel tower a mile from here, so Nextel works pretty well. But coverage can be spotty elsewhere. I'm hoping that when the Nextel / Sprint merger is complete and the FCC restrictions are lifted so that they can share towers completely, this will improve. Until there is better co-operation, overall they all suck eggs.

Frequent drops, unexpectedly. Overlap of two Verizon signals between downtown Haslett tower and Perry. A Nextel antenna in between can be "seen" by the phone, but not accessed. Disappointing, to say the least!
