Verizon has almost no coverage within 3 miles of my house. If I am lucky, I can stand at the end of the driveway and make a call. I called Verizon, and the best they had to say was that I should have excellent coverage, and that I should open a trouble ticket. The best I can hope for is that they will verify the lack of reception and let me out of my contract early so I can get a carrier that actually works.

huge run a round from verizon... called tech after talking to sales rep in hastings... was passed from one to another three total on 8 / 1 / 11 could have gotten better answers out of a cracker jack box... .rule the air my ass! not one could answer the question why signal went from steady 2 bars to 2..1..or none and dropped calls what B.S.

When Alltel first sold out to Verizon reception was OK. Within the past 2 weeks reception is getting terrible. Dropped calls..no / very weak signal (maybe 1-2 bars) in both phones and UM175 Internet air card.If we drive 2 miles to Hastings we have all bars and 3G. After speaking with Verizon rep today I was told Verizon is shutting down the old Alltel towers. This means we no longer get what we're paying "Verizon" for? My bill didn't go down but reception sure has. In order to get great reception I am being told we need to switch our plan (we've had for 2 years)and go to using "Verizon" towers. In doing this I would have to upgrade our other phone (BlackBerry) to a "Verizon" phone (at our expense and having to lock in to a 2 year contract, also not knowing for sure if this change will give us better coverage) and then according to the rep, we'd have excellent reception. Obviously they are not going to give us the same package price and quality package we now have but they will take away parts of our package and charge us the same or more. WOW..what a deal / / I mean steal.
