Altell took over simple freedom- With simple freedom I could call from anywhere without any problems. Never had a dropped call, since Altell took over I have had nothing but problems. I can't call from downtown or from the hospitals to home 3 miles away. Get messages to press 1 and the 10 digit number followed by pound sign. I do this and it saya can't make the call. when calling costumer sevices they say if it happens call them from another phone and they will fix it. No good if on the raod. Even after they fix it this only works for a call or 2. If I leave the kalamazoo area, its anybody's guess if I will have service or not. I am counting the minutes till I can change providers.

We live in a residential growth area northwest of Kalamazoo. We and our neighbors have never been able to use our cell phone at home. There have been at least 15 homes built within 1 / 2 mile of us since 1991. This poor service area may be affecting over 100 households west and northwest of Kalamazoo. If we travel west from our location on W. FG Ave. the poor reception area continues. To get usable reception we have to drive southeast seven miles to the edge of town. Please advise your engineers of this problem. Thank you. NFC

I have Alltel and it has been great. I had Sprint for six months and couldn't make or receive a call at home. I have a roaming plan and travel a lot, and it is very seldom that I don't have good enough reception to make and receive calls.

No reception at home, have to drive about 4 miles in any direction to get two or three bars, 8 miles gets you 4 or 5 bars. there are three towers visible to the east but none are Alltel

Good to perfect reception throughout WMU's Main Kalamazoo Campus. Indoors, under ground like the Miller Parking ramp. it is about a 2-3, and sometimes 4.

They must have just built a new tower there. I get all bars inside a big office building and outside. Great reception.

3-5 bars outdoors 0-1 bars indoors had T-Mobile previously, worked indoors, even in the basement!

This is the best service I have ever had. I had boost mobile and it usually got 0 or 1 bar. T mobile had about the same as boost. Atell was not bad tho.

Decent reception except no call forwarding in WMU or KVCC, the model I got is very crappy however, it looks nice and is sleak but the tone is piercing and annoying for the earpiece. Too much crap not enough function.
