I can only get enough reception to use my phone if I go in the backyard behind the shed. It's not the ideal talking location for me. Reception varies throughout the Kalamazoo / Portage area, but is never good. Customer service is great, but it kind of defeats itself to have good customer service if you can't use the phone. Basically, Sprint sucks.

Need to go outside about 100 yds from house to make or receive calls. Sprint said it will take till March 1st. to get the towers up and running. I love the phone, but not happy with this reception, especially in the winter

3-5 bars outdoors 0-1 bars indoors had T-Mobile previously, worked indoors, even in the basement!

I have between 2-4 bars in my house 2 streets from Kalamazoo Central on Drake between drake and Nichols rd I get 2 bars in my basement which is OUTSTANDING and 3-6 everywhere else in my house. I travel all over the major places of issues are highway 131 in a few areas by wayland and three rivers. I get 2-5 bars in portage most of the time meijers on westnedge and target westnedge I get great service. Ive Been everywhere from kalamazoo to oshtemo to portage to texas corners alamo almost allways 3-6 bars. I never dropped a call idk why I just havent

Mine is a work phone and I never seem to have service. Nextel is the worst service. My husband has a boost and it works great. Figure that one out!

This is the best service I have ever had. I had boost mobile and it usually got 0 or 1 bar. T mobile had about the same as boost. Atell was not bad tho.

i870 reception is great in Kalamazoo, Portage, most of the USA, except in my house. I live 2 mile west of Wedel's on Texas Drive. I have great reception everywhere in Kalamazoo all the way to Bay City. Great reception in St. Louis, KC, FL, AZ, IL, SC, NC... ..just not at home! My wife has an inexpensive i90 with the same service provider. Her phone works at home as well as the other places we have been.

Sprint reception is so bad that I can't even speak inside my own house, but have to go out into the yard and even then I only get 2 bars usually, sometimes three if I angle myself just so and don't move!

Little to no reception at all. Sucks pretty bad.

Dropped calls, no service in the Rudgate area. Phone will ring with a message on a missed call that never rang. Service is poor.

Altell took over simple freedom- With simple freedom I could call from anywhere without any problems. Never had a dropped call, since Altell took over I have had nothing but problems. I can't call from downtown or from the hospitals to home 3 miles away. Get messages to press 1 and the 10 digit number followed by pound sign. I do this and it saya can't make the call. when calling costumer sevices they say if it happens call them from another phone and they will fix it. No good if on the raod. Even after they fix it this only works for a call or 2. If I leave the kalamazoo area, its anybody's guess if I will have service or not. I am counting the minutes till I can change providers.

Horrible reception and many dropped calls all over kalamazoo. Works well if within 1 mile radius of campus.

The worst ever I cannot get any service in this whole complex! I can't use my cell phone at home and it sucks!

I always get good reception on my personal Motorola i835 with Boost Network from Kalamazoo to Grand Rapids and to Zeeland. But I suffer universally poorer reception, sometimes no reception, on the Samsung SGH-a437 with AT&T issued to me by my employer.

I am having a t errible time with my phone the last several months and it is getting worse. My calls are dropped, people hear every 2 - 3 words. I get 0 to 1-2 bars in my home. On I-94 between 131 and Capital Ave in Battle Creek I get very poor quality. I need to drive 1 to 2 miles east of 131 on center for reception. I was told to get a new phone with Sprint. Thanks a lot.

Phone is worthless to get out /. Have to go 3 miles to West Main to get out

When I'm at home, sometimes the phone rings but when I answer the called is dropped, other times the calls go straight to voicemail. The only way I can check my voicemail at home is to use the land line. I sometimes get text messages but I can't send any. I get pretty good service throughout the rest of the Kalamazoo / Portage area

Very good reception. I've been impressed with quality of service in terms of signal strength, signal quality, and selection of phones for the price. Service / Sales personnel have been good. Best service I've ever had. GPS function is great.
