All bars were up to the max. and the call wasn't nowhere near being dropped from service.plus there is a sprint / nextel store on the corner of the intersection.

My Nextel experience has been great so far. Maybe it's the phone, but I have not had any of the issues I hear other Nextel subscribers complaining about.

Great reception all around this area for Sprint. Of course, I'm using Sanyo phones, which have great reception.

T-Mobile works great for me in this area. All the way to my work in Romulus. Metro Airport ok reception. Used to have the Motorola V60g, then left T-Mobile and now back with them and have the Motorola V600. I also use to have Sprint, but as soon as I turned down my side street off Merriman, no signal. I could never make a call from my house with Sprint.

Reception in the house dies quickly as I go to inner rooms and the basement. My wife's old 6120 gets better reception than this new phone, making me consider switching for an LG CU500 as another 3G option. I am on the border of 3G coverage, getting EDGE reliably with 14KBps data speeds here. Outside I am in 4 or 5 bars all the time around the area, and I do feel Cingular is the best value proposition. Verizon has more areas with sufficient reception to keep a call going, but Cingular seems to have better signal strength when there is coverage. Verizon costs $20 a month more than Cingular for the same service time, plus Verizon's habit of locking out features on phones and sneaking in service charges has put me off them for the near future. Wouldl like to know more about relative reception of various phones than I can find so far...

T-Mobile has always had excellent customer service, but it doesn't make up for the CONSTANTLY dropped calls and MANY dead zones. We are currently looking to switch to Verizon, as I am sick of not being able to receive / make calls in buildings, in the car, on the street, basically anywhere. T-Mobile is truly "T-Maybe" and truly a disappointment.

Can barely use the phone in the house at any time. Dropped calls often occur. Outside is OK

Works well outside, not so great inside my house. I don't understand why it changes so much? I'd think about switching to Nextel (since there is a tower nearby) but I need the phone to work good everywhere else! (I still have a landline for calls here at the house) Verizon billing isn't so bad when you get 2 or 3 phones on the pooled minutes... You can get 5% off (your monthly bill) if you tell them you are a AAA member. Get the 800# from the Verizon store when you buy...
