This is the only carrier in Manistee that works in the deep woods or on the beach. I love Manistee And I use My phone for business so It's AT&T for me... Plus the guy at the Manistee AT&T store always go above and beyond for me... heck they even got me a $40 credit on my account just because I was in there stare for an hour trying to get my replacement phone after it went for a swim.

None of my friends can talk an the beach with other networks... but I can. :) Some times if it's cloudy verison will pick up Wisconsin's tower but they keep droping... HE HE! I Love ATT, and I just heard that 3G is coming to our area so I am even more excited. Also My phone works all the way up north... Traverse Petosky Benzie Frankfort. you name it I can get cignal, the only place I've had trouble was at Sleeping bear dunns but that's ok 'cuase I was busy climbing any way.

Using Cingular's GSM network in northern Michigan has a lot of gaps. Rather than everyone saying how much their service sucks, can we do comparisons with a friends phone in the same location with a different provider to give real benifit to this forum. There are really only 3 types of services out there. GSM (AT&T, Cell One??), CDMA (Verizon, Alltel??) and Nextel's. With nationwide plans they pretty much all share each others towers with the same type of service. So like services should get like reception. To identify which service you are on, GSM uses a SIM card and CDMA does not. Nextel is on it's own and analog is on it's way out. My challenge to y'all is which has better reception in northern Michigan, CDMA or GSM?
